Thanks Bloggers!

Scribd has been out of private beta for about a week now, and there is already a lot of discussion about it in the blogosphere. A search for Scribd using Technorati returns 810 results, and a search using Google Blog Search returns 6,584 results. We would like to thank everyone who has mentioned Scribd and point out a few bloggers who said something interesting or nice about the website.

Paul Stamatiou said some really positive things about Scribd in this blog post. For example, he explains that he has “fallen in love with Scribd” and also pointed out how cool our traffic analytics are. Another excited blogger is Kathy Schrock, who has described the site as “too cool for words”. After finding her blog we have been in touch with Kathy and she has given us some very useful feedback.

We’re very excited about a post on Scribd on the blog Rev2.org, which describes the site as “YouTube / Digg for Docs & Spreadsheets.” The author says that he is “nearly addicted to Scribd as I was to YouTube in its early days. They’ve greatly and successfully managed to take all the good bits out of already-developed concepts and put it as a new package for something that we’ve yet to explore.” We’re very excited about such positive feedback!

Amit Agarwal wrote a nice blog post here in which he pointed out Scribd’s “one-size-fits-all kind of solution” that “makes it extremely easy for you to embed any kind of document (including PDF) in your blog.” Alex Chitu also gave a great overview of the site summarizing many of the features.

While the majority of blogs about Scribd have been written in the last week, there are a few people who blogged about the site during our private beta.

We want to point out one in particular, Dossy's Blog. This was written way back when Scribd had only a fraction of the features it has now and a very different design. This post will show you a picture of what the site looked like back in November.

To our surprise, the majority of the blogs that mention Scribd are not in English. Just for fun, we’ll link to one Spanish post here and one Chinese post here. There is also one we found in Bulgarian. A Bulgarian friend of our’s translated the first few words for us, and it turns out they say, “genius ideas are around us, and it's just necessary for someone to create them.”

Unfortunately we can’t cover everyone who blogged about Scribd. If you wrote something about Scribd, please contact us and let us know, and we will be happy to respond to your comments.
