So, how isLithuania like inwintertime?
Aiste:
Oh, Lithuania isvery cold in thewintertime. Usually wehave snow from thebeginning of November tillthe beginning of April.That means almost fivemonths of snow, but thegood thing about snow isthat after miserableautumn, where it rainsevery day, and when thesnow starts falling, youhave the whiteatmosphere everywhere,and when people walk insnow, they're not thatunhappy and not thatdesperate anymore, so Iactually like snowbecause snow keeps your mood up. What aboutBelgium in wintertime?

Belgium inwintertime is reallymiserable. It's raining allthe time, almost everyday rain, rain, rain. It's somiserable that people justlook at the pavementwhen they are walkingoutside all the time. Theylook like they're sodepressed. There’s onlyone thing in their heads,"Oh, I hope it will bespring time soon." But, Iwas wondering, if it'ssnowing in Lithuania, isn'tit cold?
Aiste:
Oh, it is very cold.Just a few years ago wehad a temperature thatreached minus 26 inwintertime. It was reallyfreezing. You almost can'tget out of your house.Once you get out, your eyelashes get frozen, andwhen you get inside,you're just naturally cryingbecause the ice is meltingand running all throughyour face.
Christophe:
How do youheat your houses whenit's so cold?
Aiste:
Well, when it's socold, it's really a problemto heat your house at theproper temperature, and itdefinitely costs a lot of money. So far I don't havemy house and I live withmy parents, so my father was taking care of that.He was combining threeheating parts with twodifferent kinds of woodand also natural gas fromcentral heating systemand by combining thisthree parts of heatingsystem, he was heatingup the house, but stillwhen it was minus 26,once the pipes werefrozen, and it was really ahuge problem to makethe system running backagain.
Christophe:
Wow, thatsounds like a reallycomplicated andexpensive heatingsystem. I prefer rain in mycountry then.
