Published by Momentum Press

This new monograph in the ASME-Momentum Press series on Biomedical & Nanomedical Technologies will explore the basic physics and chemistry of Fullerenes, how the Fullerene molecule can be chemically modified with bio-active moieties, and then how it can be applied in clinical use.

Te fulleene molecule with its unique stuctue of 60 cabon atoms a-anged in a socce ball stuctue is a molecule of geat potential fo a vaietyof applications and has dawn attention of lots of physicists, chemists andenginees. recently, these nanostuctues have also been studied fo theibiological activities with a view towads using them fo biomedical applica-tions. One of the possible theapies fo which fulleenes may have a ealmedical application is the light based theapy called photodynamic theapy(PD), which is a non-sugical, minimally invasive appoach that has beenused in the teatment of solid tumos and many non-malignant diseases.
