Abstract
This seminar paper concerning the development of the EU - from the initial
idea for the formation of integration, through various international agreements
which interpenetrated the foundations of today's EU. In the last 50 years its
political system is continually evolving and is based on a series of agreementsthose that were signed in Paris and Rome in the 1950s, to the treaties of Maastricht
and Nice Amesterdam concluded in the 1990s.
Pursuant to these agreements, the Member States of the Union transfer part
of its national sovereignty to common institutions representing the interests of not
only individual countries but also their common interests. These agreements make
up what is known as "primary" legislation. From them comes the large body of
"secondary" legislation, which directly affect the everyday lives of citizens of the
European Union. It mainly consists of regulations, directives and
recommendations.
Time analysis shows that the EU since its formation and development in
higher degree of integration the EU today has grown and developed with great
speed. Confirmation of this is the desire to join the EU on developing countries and
countries not members. Today the EU is a powerful player in the world in the field
of the world - a global market, economic growth and development, technology, but
despite this is a powerful player in the field of preservation of good order, safety
and security of human rights and freedoms.
