GF 2-WIRE MULTI-UNIT ENTRY SYSTEMTECHNICAL INFORMATION FOR INSTALLATION & TROUBLESHOOTINGInstallation Hint:
Since each phone must be programmed individually via the process describedbelow, it is suggested that the system be wired up on a bench and programmedbefore being installed in a building. In this way, one person can program theentire system, and all functions can be tested for proper operation before beinginstalled. Otherwise, two people will be required to program the system.
Programming the Room Stations on the GF System:
1. Remove front panel.2. Lift rubber cap located on the right side of the speaker module.3. Using wrench provided or a small screwdriver, momentarily press theprogramming button.4. In-Use LED will begin blinking – will blink for approximately 15 seconds, thenwill become steadily lit.5. After In-USE LED is steadily lit, lift the first handset to be programmed. (Onlyone handset can be programmed at a time.) Communication will be present.6. Momentarily press the station button (in the GF-SW) that is designated to callthat location (handset). A single beep will be heard.7. Hang up handset.8. If the apartment has a second station:1. Lift that handset.2. Press the same call button on the entrance panel. Two Beeps will be heard3. Hang up handset9. Repeat steps 5 through 8 for each handset.10. When programming is completed, press programming switch again. In-UseLED will turn off.11. The system is now in regular operating mode.12. Secure rubber cap and replace front panel.
Setting the Entrance Station Number:
1. The default setting of the GF-DA is for entrance station #1. If multipleentrance panels are included, they must be set as #2,3,4, or 5.2. Entrance panels must be programmed independently. Follow steps above toprogram each entrance panel.3. Stations on different entrance panels may be programmed as differentbuttons. Lay out the system in advance and determine which buttons on eachentrance station will call each apartment.
1. Memory is stored in a “Button # on a Module #” configuration. For example, ahandset that is programmed as number 8 is stored as “Button #4 on Switchmodule #2”.
