**Animal Shelter Donations:
The third grade classes are collecting supplies for the Franklin County AnimalShelter. The following is a list of the supplies they need: dog treats, dog toys (hard rubber), kitty litter, cattoys, and cleaning supplies. Each class has a donation box setup in their room- Mr. Boyd, Mrs. CathyCreamer, Mrs. Ford and Mrs. Schaffer.
If you have lost any clothing items, please check in room 303 (300 building). There arenumerous jackets, sweat shirts, & tee-shirts which need to find their rightful owner.

Annual Franklin County School Miss Seahawk Pageant
The FCS Miss Seahawk Pageant will be held March 2 in the FCS auditorium. To be eligible,young ladies must be enrolled in Franklin County School, grades PK
Registration & Entry Fee: $60 due by Feb. 8. 
Late Registration by Feb. 22 requires $15 late fee.

The Culinary Class would like to introduce a new project. The class has been divided into 14 teams.Each team will come up with a new restaurant concept and study all of the relevant elements of having asuccessful business. Who is eligible?
•Students who have
an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or a 504 Accommodation Plan (for more than 6 months) andmeet the following requirements:
•The student spent the prior school year in attendance at a Florida public school during the preceding October and
 February FTE surveys in Pre-K through grade 12, or 
•The student spent the prior school year in attendance at the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind during the
preceding October and February FTE surveys in kindergarten through 12, or 
student received specialized instructional services under the Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Education Programduring the previous school year, or 
•The student is a dependent child of a member of the United States Armed Forces who transfers to
Florida from out of 
state due to a parent’s permanent change of station orders
What are the options?
•Request a different public school that follows your district’s choice policy•Request a public school in an adjacent school district that
has space and provides the services contained in student’s
 IEP or 504 Plan
•Receive a scholarship for your child to attend a participating private school

**KidCare & Medicaid Application Assistance
There is a Community Health Worker,

at the
Franklin County Health Department in Apalachicola
on every Thursday from 8:00 am
4:00 pm. She will beat the
Franklin County Annex (Carrabelle Clinic)
on Tuesday, January 15 & Wednesday, January 23. Ms.Etheridge is available to assist families with applying for KidCare as well as Medicaid. Come in to see her.You can also reach her at

also has someone to help with applying for services such asMedicaid, KidCare, and food & cash assistance.
