Function of trap oxidizer
-

Turbodiesel
The trap oxidizer is a self-regenerating filter installed between the exhaust manifold andturbocharger. It consists of a ceramic monolithsurrounded by a metal plate and coated withsilver alloy. This enables the oxidizing process tooccur even at low exhaust temperatures. The passages of the filter are closed alternately, forcing the exhaust gases to flow through theporous cell walls. The solid particles trapped asa result are oxidized at various engine operatingphases at a high exhaust temperatures as aresult of the residual oxygen which is alwayspresent in the diesel exhaust.
