Shalom and welcome to the 10th British Film Festival in partnership

with Cinematheques around Israel.
Once again our programme features films by great contemporary
British filmmakers. We run from comedy to tragedy and include
films shot across the British Isles. In addition, we remember the
genius of the 1970s British comedy team Monty Python with
classic movies and the premier of Graham Chapman's fictional
animated biography.
The Festival also celebrates the global nature of British filmmaking
and I'm particularly delighted we're opening the festival with Martin
McDonagh's LA-based comedy Seven Psycopaths.

the Nazi philosopher Martin Heidegger.
Having fled the Nazi regime by the skin
of their teeth, she and her husband found
asylum in New York during and after
WWII. In 1961, Arendt is commissioned
by the prestigious New Yorker magazine
to cover the Adolf Eichmann trial in
Jerusalem. Eichmann, one of the most
important cogs in the Nazis Final
Solution, is revealed in the trial not only
as an efficient technocrat but also a
most un-brilliant and mediocre person,
