Thank you or taking the time to review my book portolio. Most o these titles are exhibition and collection cataloguespublished or the Cleveland Museum o Art. Also illustratedhere are a selection o history books, a cookbook, andarchitectural guidelines or a historic district. In general, art history and museum authors ollow manytraditions when presenting works o art that go ar beyond asimple caption. Most o the authors are quite concerned withtheir audience o colleagues and scholars, and thereore providecomparative illustrations and copious ootnotes. Collection andexhibition catalogues will give complete ownership historieson the work art (provenance), and exhaustively list all prior appearances in exhibitions and literature. The more celebratedworks have been widely published and exhibited many timesand thereore the listings o this inormation can be quite long.Part o the challenge o designing or the scholarly audience o art history is those grand works o art and not letting them getswallowed whole by their own achievements. Conversely, theleast known works may only have one opportunity to shine—aparticular exhibition may put the spotlight on them—andthereore the scholar always sees that every possible bit o inormation on the object gets published.I am interested in many types o books, it just so happens thatart history is what a large museum tends to publish. I believethese samples demonstrate my ability to manage complexprojects with all sorts o intricacies. I look orward to speakingwith you on the opportunities that may ft my style and ability.Thomas BarnardGraphic Designer
