Dear Readers:he establishment of a pro-fessional journal is not atask undertaken lightly. Inthis case, Ricochet Journal
isthe result of the collective effortof members of the International Association of Registered Certi-fied Tomatis Consultants(IARCTC) in response to a grow-ing number of requests forresearch results about the Toma-tis Method. Fortunately, at thesame time these requests areincreasing, Ricochet Journal isable to respond by publishingtwo issues each year and specialissues as needed with articlesthat have been peer-reviewed foracceptance. The articles come from many countries and are written in avariety of languages, though they  will always have an English trans-lation since the official languageof the IARCTC is English. Thearticles tell about results fromusing the Tomatis Method incontrolled research studies and well documented case studies.Retrospective and historicalstudies and related theory arealso invited, as are book reviewsand Letters to the Editor.IARCTC is a non-profit orga-nization incorporated in Luxem-bourg in 2001 and licensed by Tomatis Developpement to bethe member association for the worldwide body of CertifiedTomatis Method Consultants(CTC). All CTCs are invited to beRegistered Certified TomatisConsultants (RCTC) by joiningthe IARCTC. A list of the found-ing members who continue to beactive is in this issue of RicochetJournal (page 85). Members’annual fees provide significantsupport for strengthening our work as a profession with ethicalguidelines established thoughour Standards of Practice. The primary responsibility of the IARCTC according to itsmembers is research. Many  were based on results of pre andpost non-normed Tomatis Lis-tening Tests, though some usedpre and post standardized instru-ments in addition or instead. Also occurring during this time was acceptance by graduatecommittees at universities anddepartments worldwide of thesesand dissertations from students who researched some aspect of the Tomatis Method. These reports and studies when added to the life long con-tributions of Dr. Alfred A. Tomatis(1920 – 2001) show how know-
