Creativity

Research into genre/ inspiration from other texts AS I researched Coursework into the electro/indie genre for my music magazine. I did this by looking at existing texts with the same genre.

Mood boards gave me the chance to be creative by visually exploring ideas.

We had the brief of creating a music magazine, so there was no choice. However this did not stop me from being creative. I chose the genre, created the fictional band and who featured in the magazine.

I chose who would feature on the cover of the magazine based on their style and how well they would fit with the chosen genre.

Filming e.g Mise en camera scene e.g work/location colours, setting, costume I decided on The mise en the angle of scene was shots, that important would be because it appropriate allowed me for a cover, to create double page the perfect spread and setting for contents the band. I page. I also used a decided on messy the location background that would be of collaged accessible for photos that actors. matched the indie style and looked professional. The band also wore casual clothes.

Editing

A2 When Coursework planning the video, digipak and advert I took inspiration from existing genres (dance tracks) I did this by watching youtube videos and researching bands artwork that had this

When panning we created a storyboard for the video and before making the digipak and advert we made a moodboard to explore how creative we could be with colours e.c.t

Again, we had to make a music video. Although, there were many different styles we could do/change. The style of dance music allowed us to be creative with speed

The actors in my A2 work feature in the video and digipak.I got to choose who I thought would best represent my work and ideas.

We had a free choice of what camera angles/types of shots we wanted to use in our video and what kind of photos (framing) would look good on the digipaks. The location allowed us to move freely and avhieve the shots we

When choosing the costumes of the band it was important for them to look like a real band and fit the style/genre of the song. So we were still creative but under these constraints.

When it came to editing I have total freedom, I decided on the enhance ments of the photos for the cover e.c.t. I also could decide on the layout, however I stuck to a fairly conventi onal magazine layout. We edited the video based on the storboar d. As for the digipaks and adverts we had freedom e.g. placeme nt of text, layout e.c.t.
