The Meewasin Valley Authority in Saskatoon is dedicated to conserving the natural and cultural heritage resources of the river valley. In recent years, it has been undertaking a major urban renewal project of its river front area to increase public appreciation of, and access to, this important resource. At the heart of this development is a new Meewasin Valley Centre, which will replace the existing facility.

The Meewasin Valley Authority in Saskatoon is dedicated to conserving the natural and cultural heritage resources of the river valley. A major urban renewal project of its river front area was created to increase public appreciation of, and access to, this important resource. At the heart of this development is the Meewasin Valley Centre, which will replace the existing facility. APA continued its relationship with the Authority, having already worked on the River Landing Interpretive Plan and the half-acre River Basin Water Play feature. The Centre was destined to be a model of sustainability; a community hub for the river valleys many attractions; and a celebration of the cultural and natural heritage of the region. Visitors would be able to steer a virtual boat down the shallow channels of the South Saskatchewan River, build their own miniature bridge and meet some of the rivers reptilian creatures, before heading out to explore one of the many Meewasin trails.
