Shot Reverse Shot

One of the requirements for our prelim task was to add in a shot reverse shot. This technique is commonly used by directors to convey a conversation between two or more characters. Firstly, we filmed over my shoulder to capture Ginnys expression and dialogue. We then moved the camera to a different angle to show my face as I delivered my line. We initially thought that this shot would be simple to film. However, we had to be careful that we didnt block each other but we also had to make sure the other character was seen, to make the scene look like a realistic conversation. Overall, by practising this technique in the prelim, we have discovered that we will use this shot in our main thriller task but we will have to take care to make sure each shot is similar, to avoid confusion. We will have to take into consideration the weaknesses of using this shot. During the post-production part of our prelim task, we learned that this particular shot is difficult to use with continuity editing. So we will make sure that this mistake is not visible in our main task.
