Prediction of vehicle's dangerous driving conditionsor maneuvers can help preventing accidents from taking place. One of the major causesof traffic accidents is a result of keeping no safe distance from neighboring vehicleswhile driving. If a system that warns drivers if they are heading too close anddangerously towards other vehicles is available, that would help reducing vehicles'accidents significantly. This system would be particularly useful in low visibilityconditions, like fog and rain, which are also a cause of a large number of accidents.In this system, each vehicle can calculate itsrelative position and velocity to other vehicles when the transmitted position and velocityof nearby vehicles are available. So, even if the driver has low visibility of other vehiclesor if he loses concentration, then the system can issue a warning to alert the driver of possible unsafe driving conditions. Using Zigbee transceivers, this state is continuouslytransmitted to neighboring vehicles. The position and velocity along with ID of thevehicle is then transmitted to neighboring vehicles using a Zigbee transceiver .In theproposed navigation system, a low-cost GPS receiver measures the position of thevehicle. The ultrasonic sensor use to find the critical distance between any two adjacentvehicles. Also, GPS encoders are used to measure forward velocity of the vehicle.
