My ePortfolio Purpose:
As a Teacher who works in an Area School (Year 1-13 or 5-17 year olds) in New Zealand I wish to set up my school with ePortfolios to:a.
Develop greater student ownership of the learning process by providing a child centred portfolio. b.
Build a stronger learning support team for the student that wouldinclude teachers, parents and other knowledgeable friends. Together this team would foster learning through formative assessment andcollaborative projects.c.
Provide a resource bank of students’ data for information,accreditation and accountability purposes.

The ePortfolio files will be able to be exported into or importedfrom other databases. This gives users the ability to move from platform to platform or school to school, and allows studentmanagement systems to communicate with the user’seportfolio.
Easy to Use
The eportfolio must be easy to use for users of all ages,including those with learning or communication difficulties.
Asystem that can be quickly navigated by beginners eg: drag anddrop functions, previews and wizard supports.
Subscriptions
Viewers (eg: parents) will have the ability to subscribe to theePortfolio and receive emails alerts when a new post has beenmade. (Both RSS and email subscription options)
