Dear Substitute,Thank you for covering my classes today. I am home sick. The lesson plans are on the teacher desk (and taped to each student table). The roll sheetsare up front, on the computer table, on a polka-dotted clip board as is a pictorial seatingchart. Please move about the room as students work. I never sit behind my desk at the back andI would appreciate it if you did not either. Please leave me a note about my students: howthey behaved and worked while I was out. I have left a blank for you to do just that.Thank you again for taking care of my students. They are a great group of kids. I hopeyou enjoy your day with them.Sincerely,Lee Ann SpillanePS: A group of teachers eat lunch in my classroom during B lunch. They will probably doso while you are here too, so don’t be too surprised by them. If you have problems, JackieOwens in portable 36 may be able to help. Her extension is x2361CELL PHONES: I allow my students to use their cell phones for academic purposesonly. They are not allowed to listen to their own music or game or socialize on their phones in class. They may look up words on their phones that they do not know in thearticles, or check progress book, but if you would rather, just tell them that you do notallow cell phones – they should abide by the teacher in the room. _____________________________________________________________________
