The Anglican Church grants lands in Caledonia to St. Andrew's Masonic Temple Association in 1954 for $1000 and the law firm retained for the transaction is Arrell & Arrell. According to online records, this may be the firm of Harrison Arrell, Master of that lodge in 1901. Presnt day law firm Arrell Law LLP mentions that Harrison was the Haldimand Municipal Solicitor and Crown Attorney and that his son Alex was Vice Chairman of the Ontario Municipal Board. Apparently, Harrison married Eva Sawle Arrell in 1907, and their grandson may be Harrison Sawle Arrell, aka Harrison S Arrell, Harrison Arrell, a Judge in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Central South Region. Although the following brief list of Hon. Harrison S Arrell matters is by no means exhaustive or representative of his gamut of decisions, Justice Arrell has recently dealt with such matters as the Landon Curley tasering case, where two police officers were alleged to have tasered a sleeping Native male after entering a residence without a warrant; the Dean Rudge case, where a Niagara region police officer was initially found not guilty of sending confidential police data to local bikers, and most famously, City of Brantford v. Montour et al, 2010 ONSC 6253 (CanLII) where the City of Brantford asked for an injunction against the Haudenosaunee Development Institute et al regarding development on Native lands.
