President Grace S. Jones,President of Three Rivers Community College,Announces Her Retirement
February 1, 2013Dear Colleagues,As of June 30 of this year, I will have completed nearly 12 years as thePresident of Three Rivers Community College, and I have notified PresidentAustin of my intentions to retire. It has been 12 years of changes, challenges, learning, and yes fun!I enjoyed meeting all of you over these past 12 years and, knowing how hardand selflessly you have worked towards fulfilling the Three Rivers Mission, admire and respect each of you. I truly believe that everyone receiving thisnotice has contributed to fulfilling Three Rivers’ mission of making itaccessible, affordable, and culturally diverse while meeting the manydifferent needs of our community.Ours is an environment that stimulates learning, but it also fostersfriendships and creates camaraderie between faculty, staff, students, andcommunity members. There are so many memorable moments of thesepast years, I could not possibly include them in this letter to you. However, the establishment of the Middle College High School, coming so late in mytenure, is particularly of importance to me. As I leave to pursue newinterests and challenges, I find it rewarding that I had a role in providing theopportunity for these future students to develop
interests andovercome
challenges. In this way, I feel that I will always be a part of  Three Rivers, just as Three Rivers will always be a part of me.As of June 30, 2013, my present appointment will be at an end. I haveoffered to remain on an interim basis until a successor is identified, and Ilook forward to our interactions during this transition period. I continue towish all of you much success in your endeavors and value the time that Ihave spent with you as we have worked together so long and so hard tomake Three Rivers a community, not just a campus. Three Rivers Community College is a treasure. All of you are part of a uniqueplace that, every day, brings change to our surrounding communities. I amso happy and so proud to be, and to have been, a part of that process.
