The basis of the religion of Islam is the attestation to two phrases:

(i) None is rightfully worshipped except God (La ilaaha ‘ill-Allah), and

(ii) Muhammad is the Messenger of God (Muhammad-ur-Rasool-ullah ).

This phrase is known as the shahaadah, or testimony of faith. Through the belief and attestation of these two phrases one enters the fold of Islam. It is the motto of the believers which they maintain throughout life, and the basis for all their beliefs, worship and existence. This article will discuss the first part of this testimony.

The Importance of the Statement ‘Laa Ilaaha ill-Allah’
As mentioned earlier, this testimony is by far the most important aspect of the religion of Islam, as it asserts the belief in Tawheed, or the Oneness and uniqueness of God, upon which the whole religion is built. For this reason, it is called, “The declaration of Tawheed”. This uniqueness and oneness necessitates God’s sole right to worship and obedience. The religion of Islam is basically a way of life in which a person worships and obeys the orders of God and none else. It is the only true monotheistic religion, stressing that no worship should be directed to any other except God. For this reason, we see that in many narrations, the Prophet, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, said that whoever says this phrase and practices it will enter Paradise for eternity, and whoever opposes it will doomed to Hellfire for eternity.

This declaration also reiterates the purpose of one’s life, which is the worship of God alone, and obviously, the purpose of one’s existence and being is the most important aspect in one’s life. God says in the Quran:

“And I have not created neither jinn nor humans, except to worship Me Alone.” (Quran 51:56)

The message of Tawheed found in this declaration is not particular to Islam. Due to the importance, reality and truth of this message, it was the message brought by all prophets. Since the dawn of humanity, God sent messengers to every people and nation, commanding them to worship Him Alone, and to reject all false deities. God says:

“And indeed We have raised amongst every nation a messenger, (commanding them) ‘Worship God, and reject all false deities….” (Quran 16:36)

It is only when this notion of Tawheed is ingrained in the heart and minds of a person that they will willingly follow the commandments of God and render all worship to Him Alone. For this reason, the Prophet, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, called his people for thirteen years in Mecca to Tawheed alone, and only a minimal amount of worship was mandated at that time. It was only when this notion became firm in the believers’ hearts and they were willing to sacrifice even their own lives for it that the majority of the other commandments of Islam were revealed. If this base is missing, nothing after it will be of avail.

The Mean...

As a bible student for 30 years I must say I'm impressed that the writers of this information have done their due diligence. This is what the Bible teaches about death and the state of the dead whether we like it or not, or want to accept it or not.

If you do research you will find the following facts as to the origin of life after death.

1. All of the confusion about death had its beginning in the Garden of Eden when Satan told Eve to rebel against God (whose name is Jehovah) by stating;

"you positively will not die for God knows in the very day of your eating from it (the tree of knowledge) your eyes are bound to opened and you are bound to be like God." Gen. 3: 1-5.

Because of this act and then the one that follwed as described also in the scriptures as "and then her husband with her began eating from the tree" Gen.3: 6 helps us to understand why we die.

Death was the punishment for rebellion. Life is a gift and the absence of life is what our perfect parents were told; "from dust you are and to dust you will return" Gen 3:19 after they rebelled. But before so doing Jehovah God also told them at Gen 2:18,19- "you may eat from every tree to satisfaction, but as for the tree in the middle of the garden you must eat from it, no you must not touch it for in the very day you eat from it you will die, for dust you are and to dust you will return.".

Death was the curse for our parents if they chose to rebel. Death was not the plan God had for our parents but was instead the result of rebellion against God's authority.

2. But because Eve eventually died centuries later, the Father of the Lie, Satan the Devil, conveniently changed the story to the "invisible" part of a person, the soul or the spirit that doesn't die, its immortal.

3. Such believe was later promoted through the city and empire built in opposition to God by Nimrod, whose Tower of rebellion was called later "babel" or confusion because this is where Jehovah God thwarted mans efforts to what would eventually be his own self destruction, and he did so by confusing man's languages which forced the building project to cease. Gen 10: 8-12, 11:1-9,

4. This scattering of people at the tower of Babel then caused all the religious lies promoted in Babel (later called Babylon) to spread a like cancerous blight of religious lies invented under the influence of the father of the rebellion Satan the Devil who seeks to keep all people in religious darkness.

{since my post is too long, this should go at the bottom of the post below}

I for one certainly don’t believe that I’m going to be sitting in a hole unthinking for god knows how long. You might think me crazy but I KNOW for certain that that aint gunna happen!!!

Now why would I need evidence of afterlife from the bible since this has been a futile battle against religious zealots from the days of Darwinism and his evolution theory - one and all who promote it don’t and can’t ever venture to question the authors (yes, only men) of said book not to mention the suppression of other texts of the same period since it is expected that one and all take a leap of faith in these author’s and their claims of righteousness and thus truth from the ‘one god’.

The point isn’t relevant to heaven or hell either – it is reference to that fact that afterlife means what it says; you don’t stop and stay buried once your body drops out. It refers to the fact of returning to another body (from a new mother in the form as a new baby) and beginning once more the ‘game of life’. That has no ‘heaven or hell’ in it and is what was removed from the bible’s texts.

History doesn’t stop with Greece – there are earlier civilizations which carry the same biblical sense as the bible, which too holds much of what is found in the current religious followings and yes these too carried the concept that one didn’t die and stay buried in the ground as does current modern bible’s hold to be true.

You seem to hold that the only truth from god comes from those in control of organized orthodox religion. That he would only do so through these men of the cloth. You really have to understand that if one and all believed in an afterlife – if they murdered, stole or made mistakes but could make amends next time through or the lifetime after that - the control mechanisms of the rulers of the day would become very difficult including for those of the cloth. Hence, what we see as the “dark ages” of our history, where man set against man in witch hunts and the like; religious following against religious following all vying for the “once only life” privilege of making it in through heavens gates became a deadly serious affair where any care of high tone emotion was seen as blasphemous.

And who knows what else was deleted from the original texts of the bible – when one can not originate ideas, question those in authority on any topic or are hysterically shot down for even daring to put forth contrary facts, not as a criticism (as has been done here), but a honest to god query of what happened to the data, then you are looking at a dead subject. Control by authority, teaching by repetition and duress, blindly following without question – these are the things which cause the demise of any civilization. For even science itself has to sometimes eat crow on its assumptions and blind followings; they are a long ways off from realizing man is more than just a meat body too.

The fact of the matter is – as is the reason I brought it up: Why was it removed from the original scripts during this period and what has it done for mankind as a whole?

I for one certainly don’t believe that I’m going to be sitting in...

So your basically saying, "There's no biblical evidence for an afterlife in heaven and hell, therefore it must have been deleted from the Bible!"

A more logical conclusion would be, "There's no biblical evidence for heaven and hell, therefore the Bible doesn't teach it."

Anyone educated in ancient history knows that the doctrine of an afterlife in heaven or hell originated with Greek Mythology, was continued in Roman Mythology, and gradually merged with Christianity through cultural diffusion.

If the scriptures did at one time teach of an immediate afterlife in heaven and hell, then why is it that the Jews have never believed in an afterlife in heaven and hell? If Jesus taught it but his words were removed from the Bible, then why would God hide this information from his people until the time of Jesus?

If the Bible did teach of an afterlife in heaven and hell, why would Justinian remove these verses? What would he possibly gain by doing so? The doctrine of an afterlife in heaven or hell was not viewed as heretical in the eyes of the Romans, for Roman Mythology shared this doctrine.

Furthermore, if Justinian did remove verses dealing with heaven and hell from the Bible, then what else did he remove? How can we trust our modern Bibles if they were tampered with by Roman rulers? You are undermining the Word of God in an effort to spread the philosophy of man. You are rejecting what the Bible actually teaches and instead choosing to believe a conspiracy theory with no biblical or historical evidence in order to suit your own narrow views. If the Bible did teach of an immediate afterlife in heaven and hell, then I would be the first to embrace such a concept, but the Bible does not and never has taught such a doctrine.

The bible once included in its scriptures the re-birth and continuation of the individual as a spiritual being. As people were a little difficult to control during Justinian's rein, he and those in charge of the churchs of the day proposed to delete these verses from the Bible and did so. But even so just because the verses are now missing from the text of the Bible, it still holds true that one returns to a new body and continues to live a new cycle and try again to make it in this world.

DEATH

Death comes to you in the middle of the night,
Or sweeps you away in broad daylight.

This being mans biggest doubt,
Death is not to be talked about.

Where he comes from where he goes?
We have no tangible proof that shows.

The masters say there is a holy light,
In the beginning and during our last flight.

How do I overcome my fear of death?
By leading a good life and having no regret.

The moment I die I must do my best,
To become one with the light, eternal rest.

The soul must merge with the super soul,
Forever to become part of the whole.

As long as I have much to give,
That is how long I will live.

At the end to death I must go,
Finishing a real tragic and funny show.
