VERITATIS SPLENDOR MISSIOThis is a community of lay & religious committed& faithful Catholics, which is also open toOrthodox, Catholic- Episcopalians as well as non-sectarian Protestants who are to devote themselvesto live a prayfull an active life in the midst of apassing world. Everyone will submit to the graces ofthe present moment & consolidate their state wherethey have been called before entering into thiscommunity & also incorporate into their lives theproper charisma of the community which is theevangelization. The VSM responds directly to the call of ourHoly Father of good memory, John Paul II the Great,to actively participate in a new evangelization. An authentic evangelization must be based uponthe three fundamental pillars of truth: SACREDSCRIPTURE, APOSTOLIC TRADITION & JESUS AUTHORITYgiven to Peter, The Rock. Therefore, the immediate sources of truth &faith are those given in 1) a sound scripturaldoctrine, 2) the knowledge of the Fathers of theChurch, who are the written Tradition available allalong with the actual oral Tradition conferred toChrists Body, the Church, & 3) the Magisteriumconferred to Peter, Linus, Anacletus, Clement,Evaristus, Alexander, Sixtus an all those serversof the servers of Christuntil Benedict XVI,Servant of God.At a practical level we do have the gift givento the Body of Christ & people of God in the SacredScripture, not mutilated, but as given to usdefinitively in the Councils of Hippo & Carthage(393, 395) & much later re-confirmed in Trent in

face of the Protestant wave of Sacred Scripturealterations. We do have the gift of the sum of thetruths of Faith in the Catechism of the CatholicChurchwhere Tradition, both oral & written, & theMagisterium become one. We also have the gift of thesolid & sound theological-biblical teachingsseamlessly integrated into the corpus of theknowledge of Christas submitted to us by St.Peter & St. Paul, the Fathers, the uninterruptedmagisterial teachings & the faithful theologians whohave always avoided the speculative, man-centeredpseudo-theology.All these three elements should be bounded upwith practical teachings becoming all for allstogain everyone who thirsts for truth & is burdenedfor the needs & sins that carry heavily upon them. This community of life has, then, a properministry which is the propagation of the truth ofChrist, the Messiah brought to the world. Weemphasize catechization in an apologetic context dueto the extent of apostasy even in those who seethemselves as believers. This evangelizationeffort is tailored, above all, to the huge mass ofconfused Catholics, Protestants and any sort ofcongregations disconnected from the Body, notinfrequently with a total distorted view of theFaith. Our proper charisma is to bring the good newsof salvationto the lost ship of the New Israel.Likewise, Jesus first ministered to the Jewish, Hispeople. But now we minister first to those who havealready receivedthe word of salvation but aremisled by the father of all lies & murder, Satan, who is concretely represented in a world in anyunimaginable ways & received by our own sinfulness.

We see this in various forms as in the deformingmedia, the promotion of a moral relativism inschools, the materialistic rationalism, thepromotion of uncontrolled immodesty, even seen inthe church, & in the entertainment & pornographyindustries, the hunger for power, pleasure &possessing, the sects cut off from the ApostolicTradition, the disdain for the respect of life, theculture of death, etc.All we are proposing to the members of the VSMcommunity will be rendered sterile if what we do isnot based in prayer, which is not an option but anunavoidable need for the Christians, as the HolyFather remind us.Firstly, we must understand that a prayful lifeis above all a gentle abandonment of our soul inGods being. St. Teresa of Jesus remind us thatprayer is talking of love to the One we know loveus. Thus, it is abandonment in love. Therefore, beby placing our imagination in the teaching of theGospel; be by words as in a conversation, reading oras in litany, be by meditating with love in themysteries of the Faith, or by a simple gaze of lovein all passivity of the uncreated love we will beconducted much ahead beyond, made already sons byadoption, then inhabiting us & transformed by God inHis very divine life. This is however obtained by grace through faithworking in love, by patiently & constantly applyingourselves to prayer with disregard of what we mayfeel or not, & as a matter of fact not expectinganything, even in the darkness relying only on Himwho loved us first & died while still being sinners. We should also imitate Marys life so that wecarry Jesus within us because the Kingdom of Heaven
