Interfaces CIF Master Data

1.1.2.1.1 Initial Data Transfer via Core Interface (CIF) (Enhanced)

Use As of release SAP SCM 7.0 you can improve the effectiveness of initial data transfer via Core Interface (CIF) by activating incremental data transfer in Customizing. The incremental data transfer is valid for the following master data objects: Product master data Location product master data Production data structure (PDS) (in SAP APO only)

If you do not activate the incremental data transfer, the initial data transfer stops in the event of an error during the processing of a queue even if the error only affects one of the objects in the queue. If the data transfer is scheduled in a background job, then the background job is canceled. You must correct the error and start the transfer of all objects again. If you activate the incremental data transfer, the system transfers all blocks of correct master data objects in a CIF queue so that you only have to retransfer blocks with errors. Due to the lower volume of objects to be processed again, the retransfer becomes more effective. To be able to use incremental data transfer, you must activate the Enhanced Initial Data Transfer (CA_CIF_INILOAD_01) business function. This business function is available as of Enhancement Package 4 for SAP ECC 6.0.

Effects on Customizing To activate the incremental data transfer, use the Customizing activity Activate Incremental Data Transfer. For more information, see Customizing for SCM Basis under Integration -> Basic Settings for Data Transfer -> Activate Incremental Data Transfer. See also For more information about the initial data transfer via CIF, see SAP Library for SAP Supply Chain Management on SAP Help Portal at http://help.sap.com -> Overview of SAP Documentation -> SAP Business Suite -> SAP Supply Chain Management -> SAP SCM 7.0 -> Application Help EN -> SAP Supply Chain Management (SAP SCM) -> SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (SAP APO) -> Integration via Core Interface (CIF) -> Technical Integration -> Core Interface (CIF) -> Data Transfer -> Initial Data Transfer.

1.1.3 SCM-BAS-AMO

Alert Monitor

1.1.3.1 Alert Monitor (Enhanced)

Use As of release SAP SCM 7.0, to simplify and improve the usability of alert profile maintenance, the Alert Monitor provides a new user interface that allows you to configure profiles, create new profiles, or select existing profiles and modify, delete or transport them. Application-specific and overall profiles are maintained in separate group boxes, which illustrates the relationships between the two types of profiles. In order to control access to alert profiles, the Alert Monitor checks authorization before the requested action is performed. The user administrator can specify which users are allowed to work with the Alert Monitor, as well as the actions they can perform, and the profiles they are allowed to create, modify, delete or transport. The processing of type Order in Past Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) alert types is moved to liveCache in order to improve the performance of the alert determination process.

Effects on System Administration To maintain the alert profiles the user needs to have adequate authorization. The profile maintenance authorization is checked against authorization object C_APO_APRF, which enables the system administrator to control maintenance activities on the alert profile level.

1.1.4 SCM-BAS-PSM

Planning Service Manager

1.1.4.1 Functions for Planning Service Manager (PSM) (Enhanced)

Use As of SAP SCM Basis 7.0, the following new functions will exist for the Planning Service Manager (PSM): Alerts for the PSM Display and selection of planning profiles

failure and the errors in the PSM application log. As of SAP SCM Basis 7.0, the system creates an alert if a planning service fails or has been ended with errors so that a planner is immediately informed and can correct the errors. Display and selection of planning profiles Up to now, you could only display planning profiles on the Define Planning Profile screen by selecting one of the existing planning profiles. As of SAP SCM Basis 7.0, there is a new screen for displaying planning profiles. On this new Display Planning Profile screen, you can not only enter specific planning profiles, but you can also search for planning profiles by entering certain selection criteria as a service profile or a trigger group.

1.2 SCM-TM

Transportation Management

1.2.1 SAP Transportation Management: Create User (new)

Use As of enhancement package 1 of SAP NetWeaver 7.0 the system can automatically create a user with a specific role and its respective authorizations in SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM). You can distinguish between the following use cases: If you use SAP ERP HCM and you transfer the structure of your organization by means of Application Link Enabling (ALE) to SAP TM, SAP TM reflects it in the Organizational Management transaction. When creating a user for a new employee in SAP ERP HCM, the system transfers the user data automatically to SAP TM and creates a business partner for the employee with a Employee business partner role. In addition, the system creates a business partner of the type Central Person and assigns it to the employee's user. If the position of the user is defined in SAP ERP HCM and this position exists in SAP TM, SAP TM assigns the business partner with the Employee BP role to this position. Finally, the system attributes the following roles to the user depending on their business role: Description Transportation Booking Agent Transportation Charge Administrator Transportation Charge Clerk Transportation Dispatcher Transportation Execution Clerk Transportation Manager Transportation Network Administrator System Administrator for Transportation

Technical Role Name /SCMTMS/BOOKING_AGENT /SCMTMS/CHARGE_ADMIN /SCMTMS/CHARGE_CLERK /SCMTMS/DISPATCHER /SCMTMS/EXECUTION_CLERK /SCMTMS/MANAGER /SCMTMS/NETWORK_ADMIN /SCMTMS/SYSTEM_ADMIN

If you do not use SAP ERP HCM or if you do not define the positions of your employees before transferring the data, the system does not automatically assign the business partner with the Employee BP role to the position that exists in SAP TM.

______________________________________________________________
SAP AG 8

SAP-System ______________________________________________________________

If you want a transportation service provider (TSP) to access the system as an external user, the system first checks if the TSP exists in SAP TM as a business partner of the type Organization with a Carrier BP role. Then it creates a user and assigns the /SCMTMS/SERVICE_PROVIDER role to the user, it creates a BP with a Internet User BP role, and a Central Person for the user. Finally, the system assigns the BP with the Internet User BP role as a contact person of the BP of type Organization with Carrier BP role.

Prerequisites You are using the SAP NetWeaver Identity Management 7.1 product under license.

1.2.4 SCM-TM-PLN

Planning

1.2.4.1 Creation of ETAs from PTAs (New)

Use As of SAP TM 7.0, you can perform a mass creation of executed transportation activities (ETAs) on the basis of the data of planned transportation activities (PTAs). You can do this on the following screens: Personal object worklist for PTAs on the dispatching overview screen List of PTAs on the transportation planning screen

You can select several PTAs from the lists and create ETAs for them using the new Create ETA pushbutton. The ETAs are created with a one-to-one relationship to the PTAs. Furthermore, an entry field for the planning profile has been added to the query for PTAs on the dispatching overview screen.

1.2.4.2 User Interfaces for Planning (Enhanced)

Use As of SAP TM 7.0, the following functions are available on the user interfaces for planning: Use stops based on one-time addresses You can enter one-time addresses and add them to your stop sequence as additional stops. The window that is displayed when you choose New Location on the user interface for manual planning has been enhanced for this purpose. Define loading and unloading sequence You can define or change the sequence of planned transportation activities of the transportation activity type Loading and Unloading for freight units and transportation unit resources. For this purpose, the following new pushbuttons have been added to the user interface for manual planning: Move Up Move Down Move to Top Move to Bottom

______________________________________________________________
SAP AG 15

SAP-System ______________________________________________________________

Use user-specific values for distance and duration You can overwrite the distance and duration values determined by the system from the transportation lane with your own values. You can do this for planned transportation activities of the transportation activity type Transportation. For this purpose, a new pushbutton, Set Distance and Duration, has been added to the user interface for manual planning. Replace resource You can replace a resource (vehicle resource, transportation booking order, or schedule) when changing a tour without having to recreate the stop sequence and reassign the freight units to it. The system automatically replaces the resource at all stops of the affected stop sequence and stages, and adjusts the resource assigment for all affected freight units, TU resources, passive vehicle resources, and drivers. For this purpose, a new pushbutton, Replace Resource, has been added to the user interface for manual planning. Replace destination location You can change the destination location of freight units for tours that have been partially executed. For this purpose, a new pushbutton, Replace Destination, has been added to the user interface for manual planning. Display detailed information about transportation charges Detailed information about transportation charges is now displayed on the results screen for creating transportation proposals and for the VSR optimization (in both cases, only when used in combination with the One-Step Planning planning strategy). The user interface has been enhanced for this purpose. Display information about main carriage Information about the main carriage, for example, the transportation service provider as well as the source and destination locations, is now displayed on the results screen for creating transportation proposals and for the VSR optimization (in both cases, only when used in combination with the One-Step Planning planning strategy). The user interface has been enhanced for this purpose.

1.2.4.3 Define Customer-Specific Functions for Planning (New)

Use As of SAP TM 7.0, you can implement your own functions in the planning area such as: Displaying tours and freight units on a map Deleting shipment requests from planning Adding freight units to tours

______________________________________________________________
SAP AG 16

SAP-System ______________________________________________________________

These functions are automatically available for selection on the transportation planning user interface (Customer-Specific Functions pushbutton).

Effects on Customizing You define your own functions in Customizing for Transportation Management. For more information, see Define Customer-Specific Functions for Planning.

1.2.4.4 External Strategies (New)

Use As of SAP TM 7.0, you can use external strategies to change the standard behavior of certain areas of your system in accordance with your requirements. You can use external strategies in the following areas, for example: Freight unit building With an external strategy, you can organize the generation of freight units for items, packages, and transportation unit resources. Incompatibilites With an external strategy, you can consider customer-specific incompatibilities that an external system determined. Departure determination With an external strategy, you can organize the determination of customer-specific departure times. Tariff costs With an external strategy, you can calculate tariff costs in an external system.

Effects on Customizing You define external strategies in Customizing. For more information, see Customizing for SAP TM under Transportation Management -> Planning -> General Settings -> Planning Controller Configuration. See also For more information, see the SAP Library documentation for SAP TM under External Strategies.

SAP AG 17

SAP-System ______________________________________________________________

1.2.4.5 Freight Unit Building (Enhanced)

Use You might want to deliver partial quantities of one shipment request item (SR item) via different stages. As of SAP TM 7.0, this is supported in freight unit building. You model the individual sequence of stages as stage groups. You create stage groups after having assigned your stages to the SR item. For each stage group, you enter the relevant quantity. By means of a consistency check, you can check, for example, whether the sum of the stage group quantities is lower than the total item quantity. The system creates one or more freight units (FUs) for each stage group and one or more FUs for the remaining quantity, that is, the quantity that is not assigned to any stage group. This function is available during automatic creation of freight units. The system also creates stage groups when creating transportation proposals for a quotation if, for example, two FUs containing partial quantities of the same quotation item are to be delivered via different stages. For this function, the shipment request user interface has been enhanced. The inbound controller takes into account quantity changes for stage groups on item level.

1.2.4.6 Tariff Planning

Use As of SAP TM 7.0, you can use tariff planning to easily integrate tariff costs into planning by assigning freight units to an FSTT combination, which consists of the following: Freight agreement Service level (including departures) Transportation service provider Tariff

______________________________________________________________
SAP AG 18

SAP-System ______________________________________________________________

See also For more information, see the SAP Library documentation for SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM) under Tariff Planning.

1.2.4.7 Using Multiresources in Planning (New)

Use As of SAP TM 7.0, you can use multiresources in planning, for example, if an unknown number of vehicle resources of a means of transport are available, but you only want to make the settings for these vehicle resources once. You can define multiresources for the following resource types: Vehicle resources The system takes into account vehicle resources that you have defined as multiresources in manual planning, in VSR optimization, and when generating transportation proposals. Transportation unit resources (TU resources) The system takes into account TU resources that you have defined as multiresources in manual planning only.

Moreover, you can use the departure calendar to assign a multiresource to a schedule, but only to define the capacity. Restrictions: You can only use multiresources if you plan tours. A resource-oriented planning is not possible with multiresources. You can define multiresources for vehicle resources, TU resources, and schedules only. The system does not support passive vehicle resources or transportation booking orders. In the case of schedules, the system takes into account multiresources for the capacity only. You cannot define the vehicle resource in a means-of-transport combination as a multiresource. For multiresources, the system can only process executed transportation activities (ETAs) with reference to a shipment or tour. The system cannot process ETAs that only have a reference to a resource. The system does not support tracking with SAP Event Management for multiresources.

You define multiresources when defining means of transport in Customizing. For this purpose, new fields have been added to the Define Means of Transport Customizing activity: Multiresource Number of Individual Resources Lock Multiresource

Corresponding fields containing the relevant values determined during planning are displayed on the user interfaces for planning. Moreover, the system temporarily displays the number of each individual resource of a multiresource (Resource Counter). Additional new fields have been added to the user interfaces for planning, for example:

______________________________________________________________
SAP AG 19

SAP-System ______________________________________________________________

No. of Resources (optimizer settings) You can use this field to control the system behavior when the number of parallel tours violates the number of individual resources. Context Determination Rule for Multiresources (planning profile) You can use this field to control whether the system determines existing planned transportation activities for a multiresource. Default Vehicle Resource (planning profile) The system uses the default vehicle resource in planning if you have not selected a vehicle resource. In many cases, it makes sense to use a multiresource as the default vehicle resource.

1.2.4.8 Schedules Without Resources (New)

Use Until now, when you defined a schedule in the master data, the system checked whether a resource was assigned to it. As of SAP TM 7.0, the system no longer performs this check. This means that you can now use schedules without resources. Note, however, that if you do not assign a resource to a schedule, the system considers the capacity of this schedule as being infinite.

1.2.4.9 Transit Rule

Use As of SAP TM 7.0, you can use the Transit Rule business object . A transit rule contains information about the following: Departure times and transit durations Deviations from these departure times and transit durations

______________________________________________________________
SAP AG 20

SAP-System ______________________________________________________________

The system determines arrivals based on this information. You can use transit rules for tariff planning.

See also For more information, see the SAP Library documentation for SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM) under Transit Rule.

1.2.5 SCM-TM-SCT

Subcontracting and Tendering

1.2.5.1 Enhancements of Shipment Requests and Other Business Objects (Enhanced)

Use As of SAP TM 7.0, several enhancements to shipment requests, freight requests, shipment orders, and other business objects are available. In the folllowing, the major enhancements are described: Custom fields on several business object user interfaces (UIs) Four custom fields are available on the UIs for shipment requests, shipment orders, and transportation booking orders. In Customizing, you can define the input help for two of these fields. Check function for valid freight agreements On the shipment request and shipment order UIs, you can now check which freight agreements are valid for the shipment request or shipment order (using the Check pushbutton). Function for assigning and unassigning shipment requests to or from freight requests You can now assign existing shipment requests to a freight request. You can do this only for the request data of a freight request in the Shipment Request Information area of this business object. Furthermore, you can unassign shipment requests from a freight request for the request, planning, and confirmation data. Setting for number of editable lines in item tables You can now specify how many editable lines are displayed in the item tables of shipment requests. You can make this setting by choosing the Display Settings link on the shipment request UI or by defining a user parameter. The default value is 5 editable lines.

1.2.5.2 Tendering Template (Enhanced)

Use As of SAP TM 7.0 you can define tendering templates that store tendering process configurations that you can reuse during manual or automatic tendering process configuration.

1.2.6 SCM-TM-TCM

Transportation Charge Management

1.2.6.1 Profitability Calculation (Enhanced)

Use As of SAP TM 7.0, you can define cost assignment methods that are used for the profitability calculation in transportation charge management (TCM). The system uses the cost assignment methods to distribute the transportation charges for a shipment order to the shipment requests that are assigned to this shipment order. This is important if multiple shipment requests are assigned to one shipment order. By using the cost assignment methods, you can specify whether the basis for distributing the transportation charges is, for example, weight or volume. You can determine which cost assignment method is considered by the system when distributing the transportation charges for a shipment order by specifying a determination rule and a condition on the Web user interface for SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM). In the Maintain Charge Calculation Rules Web transaction, you have the following new option: Def. Rules f. Cost Assignment Method Determination. In addition, the

following new condition is available for this purpose: Charge Calculation: Cost Assignment Method Determination.

Effects on Customizing You can define the cost assignment methods in Customizing. For more information see Customizing for Transportation Management under Transportation Charge Management -> Transportation Charge Calculation -> Enhancements of Charge Calculation Engine -> Define Cost Assignment Methods. SAP delivers default cost assignment methods. However, you can also define your own cost assignment methods.

1.2.6.2 Internal Customer Freight Invoicing (New)

Use As of SAP TM 7.0, you can perform internal customer freight invoicing between different organizational units of your enterprise. This might be necessary, for example, if the organizational units that are responsible for executing and paying the various transportation stages differ from the payee of the entire transportation. By performing internal invoicing, you can ensure that the paying organizational unit receives a reimbursement of its costs as well as a profit share. In a similar way to the standard process of customer freight invoicing, you first create a customer freight invoice request (CFIR) - in this case, an internal CFIR (new CFIR type 11, Internal Invoice). Then you transfer the internal CFIR to the ERP system in which the actual internal customer freight invoicing is performed. If you use an SAP ERP system, the system performs an intercompany or intracompany billing based on your Customizing settings. New Usage Types for FA, TCCS, and Tariff As a prerequisite, you have to create a freight agreement (FA) for the organizational units between which the internal customer freight invoicing is to be performed. This FA must have the new Internal Transportation Charge Calculation usage type, just like the transportation charge calculation sheet (TCCS) and the transportation charge tariff used in the FA. Internal Transportation Charge Calculation Based on Profit Share or Cost Surcharge You can specify the cost elements in a TCCS in such a way that the paying organizational unit receives either a profit share or a surcharge on its costs, in addition to the reimbursement of its costs. For this purpose, the following new calculation methods that are predefined in Customizing are available: APPLY_COST and APPLY_PROFIT. However, you can also define your own calculation methods in

Customizing (see below).

Effects on Customizing Customizing for Transportation Management Two new Customizing activities are available for internal customer freight invoicing. You use these activities to assign a sales organization to the purchasing organization of the shipment order and a purchasing organization to the sales organization of the shipment request. For more information see Customizing for Transportation Management under the following Customizing activities: Transportation Charge Management -> Customer Freight Invoicing -> Internal Customer Freight Invoicing -> Assign Sales Organization to Purchasing Organization Transportation Charge Management -> Customer Freight Invoicing -> Internal Customer Freight Invoicing -> Assign Purchasing Organization to Sales Organization

Moreover, you have to define a CFIR type for the CFIR category 11 (Internal Invoice) in Customizing. For more information, see Customizing for Transportation Management under Transportation Charge Management -> Customer Freight Invoicing -> Define Customer Freight Invoice Request Types. You can define your own calculation methods for the internal transportation charge calculation. For more information, see Customizing for Transportation Management under Transportation Charge Management -> Transportation Charge Calculation -> Enhancements of Charge Calculation Engine -> Define Calculation Methods. Customizing for SAP ERP If you use an SAP ERP system for internal customer freight invoicing, you have to make some settings in Customizing for the SAP ERP system. For more information, see Customizing for SAP ERP under the following Customizing activities: Cross-Application Components -> Processes and Tools for Enterprise Applications -> Enterprise Services Enhancements for SAP ERP 6.0 -> Transportation Management -> Transportation Charge Management -> Intercompany/Intracompany Billing -> Define CFIR Type Code for Intercompany/Intracompany Billing Cross-Application Components -> Processes and Tools for Enterprise Applications -> Enterprise Services Enhancements for SAP ERP 6.0 -> Transportation Management -> Transportation Charge Management -> Intercompany/Intracompany Billing -> Assign Transportation Charges to Cost Elements Cross-Application Components -> Processes and Tools for Enterprise Applications -> Enterprise Services Enhancements for SAP ERP 6.0 -> Transportation Management -> Transportation Charge Management -> Intercompany/Intracompany Billing -> Assign TM Organizational Unit to Internal Order

1.2.6.3 Pro Forma Customer Freight Invoice and Supplier Freight Invoice (New)
Use As of SAP TM 7.0, you can print, fax, and e-mail pro forma customer freight invoices and supplier freight invoices. These invoices are preliminary documents based on the data from the customer freight invoice request (CFIR) and the supplier freight invoice request (SFIR). They can be used to inform the customer and the supplier in advance about the invoice data and transportation charges of the actual invoice documents that are created later. The format of the documents is Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). You can manually print, fax, and e-mail the invoice documents from the CFIR and SFIR screens and personal object worklists using the Print and Send pushbuttons. Furthermore, you can specify automatic printing or sending by fax and e-mail in Customizing. The automatic printing and sending process is based on the life cycle status of the CFIR or SFIR, which must be Ready for Invoicing (CFIR) or Ready for Accruals (SFIR).

Effects on Customizing You define the conditions of printing such as automatic printing and printers in Customizing. For more information, see Customizing for Transportation Management under Basic Functions -> Printing.

Master Data

1.2.7.1 Alternative Location Identifiers (New)

Use As of SAP TM 7.0 you can define alternative location identifiers. Once defined, you can use an ALI in transportation processes such as the creation of shipment requests or the definition of resources.

Effects on Customizing

SAP AG 25

SAP-System ______________________________________________________________

You have defined at least one ALI type in Customizing (see Configuration of Alternative Location Identifiers)

1.2.7.2 Schedule (Enhanced)

Use As of SAP TM 7.0 you can use transportation groups during schedule definition. You can also copy existing transportation schedules and manipulate individual departures associated with a schedule.

Effects on System Administration You have defined transportation groups in Customizing (see Maintain Transportation Group).

1.2.7.3 Using Multiresources in Planning (New)

______________________________________________________________
SAP AG 26

SAP-System ______________________________________________________________

Additional new fields have been added to the user interfaces for planning, for example: No. of Resources (optimizer settings) You can use this field to control the system behavior when the number of parallel tours violates the number of individual resources.

1.2.7.4 Schedules Without Resources (New)

Use Until now, when you defined a schedule in the master data, the system checked whether a resource was assigned to it. As of SAP TM 7.0, the system no longer performs this check.

______________________________________________________________
SAP AG 27

SAP-System ______________________________________________________________

This means that you can now use schedules without resources. Note, however, that if you do not assign a resource to a schedule, the system considers the capacity of this schedule as being infinite.

Integration Global Trade Services

1.2.8.1.1 Integration with SAP GRC Global Trade Services (New)

Use As of SAP TM 7.0, you can use SAP GRC Global Trade Services shipment processing to automatically handle customs status checking for shipments created in SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM) by the ERP system. You can also use customs declaration control to configure how the system processes shipments using SAP GRC Global Trade Services.

Effects on Customizing In order to enable integration with SAP GRC Global Trade Services, the shipment type of the shipment must have the customs declaration (Cust. Dec.) field selected in Customizing (see Define Shipment Types).
