Albany County Ready for Winter Storm

Mother Nature is getting ready to hit the Capital Region with snow and Albany County is ready. Albany County DPW crews are ready with plows in place to insure that our roads are cleared as quickly as possible and we have plenty of salt. But its not just the DPW thats prepared. All of our departments are prepared, said Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy. Our Office For the Aging has shelf stable meals (4) in each of the homes that we serve. They also have identified those elderly and handicapped that are in need of electricity for medical reasons. Should the power go out, our local first responders have their names and numbers and will get them to a location that has electricity. As for others that offer home delivered meals: Ravena: Delivering today for Thursday through Sunday, hot and cold meals for all days to all clients. Cohoes: They will deliver meals in morning as usual. Senior Services of Albany has given rural clients extra meals today to cover Friday and the weekend. They expect to deliver to the city and suburbs. ###
