* SA adoptees/mothers including anyone who is currently living in SA and/or was adopted in SA *

- funding is extremely limited & the dissemination has been as disorganised and inequitable as the whole organisation of the apology so far. PLEASE DON'T LET THIS STOP APPLICATIONS - if they see the need they can make last minute changes as they have consistently done up until now - AND THE NEED SHOULD BE SEEN - we are being pushed under the rug and if no-one speaks up they will trample us yet again.

By 'they' I mostly mean those organising the apology - the Attorney General's office, but RASA whose funding was continued at the state apology should also have planned ahead for this but they have got these applications out quickly having only received the info themselves in the past week.

Now that we have finally got some last minute information accommodation and travel prices are sky high!

So many people are self funding on principle, but many can't. We took it upon ourselves to ask for funding and advertisement of the apology well over a month ago directed to the State government and they passed the buck to the Federal Government.

Basically what all of the states have received is the equivalent of one pollie's taxi travel costs for a year. Crumbs to appease us and delay after delay and misinformation to silence us until it's too late to do anything.

June 2012 - Federal Apology announced, no date set.

Just before xmas 2012, date set as 21/3/13.

Minimal funding given to one organisation chosen in each state - same amount of $20,000 each - not proportionate to affected number in the state or distance to be travelled, or late date to book accommodation. Tasmania sharing with Victoria. Released 8/2/13.

Order of the day proceedings, venue etc still not set as of 9/2/13.

Quoting a friend: "They couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery".
