This article intends to show the links between shamanism, Vedic rituals and Harappa's ideography. The relation between the Tungusic etymon Shaman and the Vedic Shramana is far too close to be just a similarity; more than mere reference, it reveals further shamanistic characters. The Harappa ideography provides visual and symbolically detailed information on the shaman tradition as it originated in the Vedic literature.
