Purpose of Program:
This program isdesigned to support projects for trainingState VR agency personnel in programareas essential to the effectivemanagement of the agency
s program of VR services or in skill areas that willenable personnel to improve theirability to provide VR services leading toemployment outcomes for individualswith disabilities.
Program Authority:
29 U.S.C. 772(g)(3).

III. Eligibility Information

Eligible Applicants:

Cost Sharing or Matching:
Granteesunder the State VR Unit In-ServiceTraining program must provide at least10 percent of the total cost of the project(34 CFR 388.30(a)), except that under 34CFR 388.30(b), grantees designated toreceive a minimum share of one third of one percent of the sums made availablefor the fiscal year ($5,765,661) arerequired to provide at least 4 percent of the total costs of the project.Accordingly, Puerto Rico is required toprovide at least 10 percent of the totalcost of the project, while the VirginIslands, Guam, and American Samoa arerequired to provide at least 4 percent.
Note:
Under 34 CFR 75.562(c), an indirectcost reimbursement on a training grant islimited to the recipient
s actual indirectcosts, as determined by its negotiatedindirect cost rate agreement, or eight percentof a modified total direct cost base,whichever amount is less. Indirect costs inexcess of the eight percent limit may not becharged directly, used to satisfy matching orcost-sharing requirements, or charged toanother Federal award.
