Getting around town on foot, board, and public transit, i was able to observe and take in the city for what its worth.

I wandered downtown and continued east and west and conrmed that yes, KC is eclectic as all get out. There is a vast diversity in the demographic both ethnically, culturally, and economically.

Talking with Matthew Hoffman of the You-Are-Beautiful campaing, he said something to me that stuck. He said you are beautiful cant change the world, but it can change someones world. I think that rings pretty true. I hope that through positivity and surprise, i can change someones day.

Place messages in the community that evoke thought and emotion. I observed and talked to people going through the daily grind. their personal routine. itd be nice to give them a surprise.

Troost Ave.

Context

Ive narrowed down my target area from all of KC to just Troost Ave. The Avenue is full of canvas space to slap messaging on. I plan to repurpose the existing structures of the avenue, that for the most part are visible north bound and south bound, for these messages
