e don’t know how speciala Valentine’s Day it wasfor actor Suriya and fam-ily, but for the patients of Tanker Foundation it was a day toremember. A double bonanza awaited allthose at the Tanker Foundation’s15th anniversary. Everybody wasonly expecting Suriya at theevent; instead he dropped in with wife Jyotika and little Diya. Forthe uninitiated, the actor is thegoodwill ambassador of TankerFoundation, which helps the un-derprivileged suffering from kid-ney ailments by offering themsubsidised dialysis treatment.The family went around meet-ing patients, giving roses to eachof them and encouraging them tomotivate new patients on dialysistreatment. n a breakthrough in the mur-der of a female employee working in a supermarket inRoyapuram, police on Sunday arrested the lady owner of the su-permarket on Tuesday. The ac-cused woman had allegedly orchestrated the murder of heremployee after being irked overthe fact that her husband washaving an affair with her.On Sunday afternoon, Ananthi(23) was stabbed to death insidethe supermarket by an unidenti-fied youth.Royapuram police registered acase of murder and upon investi-gation it was discovered that theaccused Bhavani (37) had de-ployed Harikrishnan (27), a watercan supplier from Mylapore, tocommit the murder. Harikrish-nan was a friend of Bhavani’sdaughter. According to an investigating officer, Bhavani had convincedHarikrishnan to kill Ananthi by promising him her daughter’shand in marriage. Harikrishnan, with the help of Muthukrishnan(45), the watchman of the store,and Venkatesan (34) reached thestore, identified Ananthi andstabbed her.Royapuram police arrestedBhavani, Harikrishnan, Muthuk-rishnan and Venkatesan and pro-duced them at the George Towncourt.They were later remanded tocustody and sent to Puzhal pris-on.
