Summary of Information Collection
The information collection includesthe requirements of DFARS Appendix F,Material Inspection and ReceivingReport; the related clause at DFARS252.246–7000, Material Inspection andReceiving Report; and the DD Form 250;DD Form 250C; and DD Form 250–1.The clause at DFARS 252.246–7000 isused in contracts that require separateand distinct deliverable. The clauserequires the contractor to prepare andfurnish to the Government a materialinspection and receiving report (DDForm 250) in a manner and to the extentrequired by DFARs Appendix F. Thereport is required for materialinspection and acceptance, shipping,and payment.

Notice and request forcomments regarding a proposedextension of an approved informationcollection requirement.
SUMMARY
:
In compliance with Section3506(c)(2)(A) of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (44 U.S.C.Chapter 35), DoD announces theproposed extension of a publicinformation collection and seeks publiccomment on the provisions thereof.Comments are invited on: (a) Whetherthe proposed collection of informationis necessary for the proper performanceof the functions of DoD, includingwhether the information will havepractical utility; (b) the accuracy of theestimate of the burden of the proposedinformation collection; (c) ways toenhance the quality, utility, and clarityof the information to be collected; and(d) ways to minimize the burden of theinformation collection on respondents,including the use of automatedcollection techniques or other forms of information technology. Thisinformation collection requirement iscurrently approved by the Office of theManagement and Budget (OMB) for usethrough August 31, 1998, under OMBControl Number 0704–0252. DoDproposes that OMB extend its approvalfor use through September 30, 2001.
