School Leadership & Technology
SCHOOL OF EDUCATIONNYIT’s School Leadership and Technology program prepares educators to excel in demandingpositions such as program director, curriculum coordinator, technology coordinator, assistantprincipal and school principal. It is the only educational leadership program in New York Stateto include all the requirements for certification as both a School Building Leader (SBL) andEducational Technology Specialist (ETS).The advanced diploma program focuses on the specific knowledge and skills candidates need tomake a positive and profound impact on 21
st
century schools. A substantive study of data-drivendecision-making, leadership, change, organizations, and site-based management empowerscandidates to create solutions to the complex challenges they surely will confront during theircareers. Integral to these leadership and administrative strengths, the program builds candidates’knowledge and understanding of successful instruction and standards-based curricula. The rapidadvances in hardware and software for communications, learning and administration demand ahigh level of professional knowledge and judgment in identifying, using, and evaluatingeducational technologies. Therefore, each program component is technology-infused to developcandidates’ technical skills as well as analytic and administrative acumen. Given the pressingneed for technology expertise in school leaders, School Leadership and Technology graduatesenter the competitive market for leadership positions with a significant advantage over those whodo not possess these credentials. The School Leadership and Technology program offers you:
