INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
TEGULA CONCRETE RO.OF TILES are Installed as follows:
8
1. For "dos aquas'' roofs. begin installation at the right lowest layer going up, making sure of straight
formation. .
2. For ci.IC\tro aquas" roofs, the first formation of tiles may be started at the center of the main roof from the
lowest layer going to the top using a string guide.
{The above procedures will ensure proper. installation straight at all angles.) .
3. Depending on the roof's slope and exposure to strong winds during typhoons, fasten the tiles to the
horizontal battens using 2" nails (or screws) alternately or successively.
4. Lay the valley gutter tiles above the G. I. Valley Gutter ..
(G.I. Valley Gutter on the diagonal gutter bat\ens fastened.to the vertical battens.)
5. After all tiles are laid-out. mark the tiles at hip.s. and va!leys to be cut using a string guide. With the use of a
circular cutter (edger). cut the tiles by removing th.em. orje by .one. Re-lay the tiles after cutting ..
6. Grouts are placed from the lowest eno of hip working up. end cap first, then the ridge rolls going
up to the top ridges I and the wye tile grouting.including the valleys, with smooth cement
finish. . ,
7. After completion of installation, remove all debris and cle.an the whole roof area including all gutters.
8. For cement gray tiles, paint the whole TEGULA roof with paint ,w/o clogging the
head and side lappings.
Note:
All purlios should be straightened and levelled belore installing the G. I. undersheeting.
Horizontal and vertical batlens should be straightened and levelled before laying TEGllLA tiles.
Please consult our accredited installers or call us.it you plan to install TEGULA TILESwithout under sheeting/ under layment.
Installation direct to purlins may be done for media-aguas" and simple root designs ("dos agua.s" and cuatro aguas").
For complicated roofs, those with. Y(!lleysl parapet walls, dormer windows, etc., we recommend the use of G.l. undersheeting or
TEKTON undorlaymant.
