Thanks for uploading these. However, your contention that Nazism is not rightist is not correct and represents a profoundly distorted view of history. The Nazis used the word "socialist" as a rhetorical device to make themselves sound nicer--it was a popular word back then. However, like the Fascist movement in Italy, the Nazi state was pro-corporate and anti-labor, among other things empowering its major corporations to use slave labor. The gas used to exterminate Jews and Gypsies was produced by I.G. Farben, a major corporation. Nazism and fascism celebrated war, torture, murder, racism and a mindless allegiance to the nation. Sad to say, the rhetoric of the extreme right in the world today echoes Nazi sentiments--torture is OK, the President should have unlimited power, surveillance of the population is OK, corporations should have unlimited power, labor should have no power, those who dissent should be deported or worse and (using code words to say so) white people are better. Stalin was a monster, no question, but this means that in effect he too was a rightist, though he used leftist rhetoric. I for one am sick of the right projecting its own darkest impulses onto others.

These images are of such clarity that they instantly modernise Nazi Germany in one's mind,so that one can muse that those images represent something that is immediately current and ongoing,rather than being just another photographic record from what is known to be past and gone.
