Principal’s Corner
Dear Parents,Registration for 2013-2014 has started. Current families have until February 15th to turn in their tuition contractalong with the registration fee of $50. After this date, registration begins for new families until the classroommaximum has been reached.Tuition contracts were sent home with the youngest child in the family on Friday, January 25th. If you need anew Pre K or K-8 contract, they are available on our web site under the 13-14 Info tab or contact Pat Moore inthe school office.
Catholic United Financial Raffle
Wow! Are we off to a GREAT start! Thank you to everyone who has turned in their raffle ticketsand to those who have asked for MORE raffle tickets! As of Friday, we have already had $3,000turned in. This is amazing for our school! I know we are going to do so well during this raffle!!! Getyour tickets in to me every week and as you sell them, you’ll get your students name into theweekly drawing for a $10 gift card. Don't forget, there are going to be prizes for each $5,000 goalwe make. Our school goal is $20,000 and we have until March 1 to sell raffle tickets! Sell, Sell, Selland let's make our goal and help our school have a VERY successful raffle!

Fish Fry 2013 We are gearing up for Fish Fry 2013 that begins on Friday, Feb. 15th. We need many,many volunteers to help work in the kitchen or dining room. Times are now posted onDibs. You can choose from preparing food, serving food, food servers, clearing tables, working the scullery, etc. All profits go directly to the school. This is a great event to volunteer during Lent and it’s FUN!You could also become a Fish Fry Donor.

Sacred Heart will be hosting the 2013 B Squad girls Basketball Tournament on 2/28, 3/2, and 3/4.
This will require many volunteers in order tobe successful.
We will need people to work concessions, scorebook, and the admission table.
We rely on this money to purchase new sports’uniforms every year.
We are in the process of ordering new girls’ Varsity volleyball uniforms for next year.
I have updated Dibs to show theremaining home games that we still need help and all the tournament workers needed to help make this a successful tournament. We are fortunatethat we were chosen to host this fun sporting event. Please log in to Dibs to sign up.

-Friday, February 22 (These pictures are optional)Your child will be bringing home a picture order form next week. Everyone will have their photo taken. Preparing for the MCA tests for next year
Sacred Heart has been selected by the Archdiocese to take a practice math test called OLPA that will be very similar to the MCA tests our studentsin grades 3, 5, and 7 will be taking next year in reading and math. So this week, gr. 3, 5, 7 will be taking the online math test to help us prepare fornext spring.

Thank you to all the volunteers that helped at the Book Fair. We couldn’t do it without you. Thank you to Shelly Smith for coordinating the fair. A big thanks to the teachers who helped collect money for All For Books, played Book Fair Bingo with the kids, and helped at Lunch With a LovedOne. Thank you to Fr. Pedersen and the parish and school staff for all your help and allowing us to use the parish commons. I heard from so manyfamilies and parishioners how great it looked to see the book fair out in the commons.The 2013 Book Fair was our most successful one ever! Families and parishioners donated over 100 books to our classroom teachers! Studentsbrought in $432.01 for All For Books. Thank you to all the families that contributed. We purchased 55 great new books for the school library withthat money. In addition, Scholastic will donate 432 books to children in need. Congratulations Kindergarten for brining in the highest amount of money and to the 5th grade, who brought in the highest/student average. Both classes won $25 in books and a popcorn party. Thank you to thefollowing individuals and families who donated books to the school library: Annabell Schreier, Maggie Sobraske, Marc & Marta Helseth, TheDaugherty Family, Eli Hippen, Marie & Elizabeth Brust, The Spangberg Family, David & Kristin Witt, Eli Antoine, Miles Jamieson and GraceGooley.
Lego Robotics
One of our Sacred Heart teams made it to the State First Lego League tournament.
They finished in the top fourth of the teams of thetournament which is
a great accomplishment for our school.
The boys also were one of the 7 top team in the Research category.SHCS team-Luke Timmerman, Will Krey, Josh Feyereisen, JonathanClark-Harrer, John Thibault. Members of the other Lego team (MonsterBots)came out to cheer us on, in addition we were cheered by theDoerner’s and Olson’s.
I thought it was awesome to have such supportfrom Sacred Heart. Also, thank you to Coach Cindy Krey!Coach Ken TimmermanWe would love to have more teams next year,
but this depends on parent volunteers.
