Always Forward Sports (AFS) is an active outdoor sports news website whose mission is to bring together theworld of active outdoor sports and report its news in a concise, entertaining and useful way. AFS providesenthusiasts of active outdoor sports, such as trail running, skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, kayaking, rock climbing and more, the easiest way to get up to speed on what is happening in the sports they care about.
Job Description
AFS is seeking talented students who are interested in interning and expanding their skill sets by participating ina variety of news-oriented tasks, including on-camera anchoring, story-building, editing and websitemanagement.
Job Responsibilities
Participate in on-camera anchoring and reporting of headline news in active outdoor sports
Research information from across the globe for meaningful, fresh stories in the world of active outdoor sports
Simplify complex stories into a headline news format and cite multiple sources to build the story
Verify and confirm story facts and proof content
Establish relationships with key contacts
Website Management: Uploading videos, content curating, link building
Not required but available: Editing using Final Cut Pro to edit video clips and prepare them for publication
Standing: Full-time Junior or Senior-level college student or MBA candidate
Field of Studies: Journalism, Strategic Communications, Media Studies, Emergent Digital Practices
Self-motivated and enthusiastic about being involved in all facets of on-screen news reporting andvideo production
Clear and accomplished verbal communication and writing skills
Able to deliver news from teleprompter in an animated and entertaining manner 
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
Time Requirement
20 hours per week (Flexible schedule)
