er this I beheld, and, lo,a great multitude, whichno man could number,of all nations, and kindreds, andpeople, and tongues, stood beforethe throne, and before the Lamb,clothed with white robes, andpalms in their hands; And criedwith a loud voice, saying, Salvationto our God which sieth uponthe throne, and unto the Lamb.”Revelation 7:9-10.Do you plan to be one of thosewho cry out, “Salvation to our Godwhich sieth upon the throne, andunto the Lamb”? I sure do. Like theold song goes, “Lord, I want to bein that number. . . .” I plan, as I’msure you do, to be in that number.To look at the Father upon onHis throne, and Jesus siing next toHim on His throne—to look at thefour beasts (living creatures) andthe 24 elders and all the angels and,nally, the unnumbered redeemed?O yes, I want to be there!To gaze at the high, lied-upthrones of gold on the beautiful,crystal sea of glass, with the riverof life owing out from the throneof God, and then the trunks of thetree of life on either side of the riv-er, meeting together above to formone complete, magnicent tree, andthe luscious fruit hanging o each branch. . . . We just can’t miss it!Can you only imagine as welook upon that scene, as we begin tofully recognize that we have indeed been adopted back into the familyof God, graed back into the Vine,never more to get sick, feel pain orexperience any of the ramicationsof sin, how our hearts must just
burst
into rapturous song?And then, our new, melodiousvoices, singing and talking withsuch musical abilities as we havenever heard before from a human being, will cause even more loveand adoration to ow from ourhearts and lips.Again, I cannot express how badly I want to be there, and how Ilong for it. Don’t you feel the same?I know you do. And to believe thatall my wrongs have been paid for,all my sins expunged not only frommy life but even the record books,with purity and holiness takingtheir place. . . . I haven’t even begunto imagine that yet!To look upon the One who tookmy sins, rebellion and selshnessupon Himself, willingly, because ofHis and His Father’s immense lovefor me personally, just calls fortheven more praise, love and adora-tion.I can almost envision beingthere . . . with the numberless mul-titude uniting their voices in one,harmonious, vibrant whole. Allwith looks of joy, peace, contented-ness and uer, uer happiness, thewaves of love for what Jesus andthe Father have done for us comingover us again and again until wealmost beg for something to do toshow our appreciation.And then, Jesus uers the dutiesand responsibilities of each one,those glorious tasks that He createdus for, the jobs that the fallen angelsused to have that are now ours, andwe smile smiles that cannot andwill not ever be erased, because itis our highest joy to do whatever Jesus bids us do.“Heaven will triumph, for thevacancies made by the fall of Satanand his host will be lled by the re-deemed of the Lord.” UL 61“Clad in His meekness and low-liness they nd their highest joy indoing His service. Earthly ambitiongives way to a desire to serve theMaster.” TMK 123Then imagine the joy of the an-gels who now have new friends toaccompany them on their errandsand duties for the Master, and the joy unspeakable in all of our heartsas we recount God’s blessings toeach one of us for the last 6,000years. How God intervened in our behalf, how our trials were actuallyrening us for the service we areengaged in now, how our heavenlyguardians protected and watchedover us tirelessly. I don’t think itwill be hard to nd something totalk about during our travels.The coming of the Lord! What aday that will be! Don’t you just longfor it? Ache for it? Dream about it?Talk about it? Practice your smile, because . . . it is almost here!
