Dr. Thomas Magedanz received his M.S. and his Ph.D. in computer sciences from the Technical Universityof Berlin, Germany in 1988 and 1993, respectively.In 1989 he was named as an assistant professor at the Department for Open Communication Systems (OKS)of the Technical University Berlin with focus on distributed computing and telecommunications. Besides thepresentation of various courses he has been involved in several international research studies and projectsrelated to Intelligent Networks, Telecommunications Management, Personal/mobile Communications, TINAand Intelligent/Mobile Agents within Deutsche Telekom AG, EURESCOM and RACE/ACTS.From 1996-1998 he chaired the "Intelligent Communication Environments" research department at theGMD Research Center for Open Communication Systems (FOKUS), where he was responsible for severalprojects related to IN, TINA, UMTS and Intelligent/Mobile Agents. In addition was one of the foundingdirector sof the FOKUS Competence Center for Intelligent Mobile Agents (IMA).In 1998 he joined IKV++ GmbH, a spin off company of GMD FOKUS, as senior consultant, where he isleading multiple international projects related to fixed and mobile telecommunications middleware.Dr. Magedanz is a member of the ACM, GI and IEEE and the author of numerous technical papers/articles.In 1996 he published a book on Intelligent Networks. Since two years he giving professional seminarsrelated to IN, TINA and Intelligent Mobile Agents.

In 1996 he published a book on IntelligentNetworks.
