What are Emotions? is Chapter 2 of the book "Emotion, Seduction and Intimacy" published in November 2007. This chapter examines scholarly conceptions of emotion, and the role of emotions in decision-making. It questions a number of presumptions about the negative impact of emotion on decision-making, drawing attention to research showing that people who lose access to their emotion centres are unable to make decisions.
