Free and Public Education System in the United States is unique and considered a safeguard of freedom. The educational programs of the school would be ineffective without the support of the government, the family and the church. The rapid technological advancement has brought about several changes within the educational
community.
Carrying out educational goals is the responsibility of each individual state. The Federal Government is however, extensively involved in education.
State Legislature
Democratically elected officials formulate policies for governance and administration of the schools. While education is a state function and the state has some regulatory authority, the local districts remain in control of the schools themselves.
School boards should adopt policy cautiously and in some cases, with the council of an attorney. School board policies should not be confused with administrative rules and regulations.
