Judeo-Christans think of life as a linear, God-separated happening that has a definite beginning and end, with resultant rewards or punishments; Eastern religions believe in a oneness with God in circular time with differing levels of consciousness. Through the ages man has felt a need to define life, the universe, the soul, how man came to be. Alan Watts had a particular explanation for the "drama": Mankind and all life is a dream God is having, and when God awakens we will all discover that we are God!
