Description

The Kakkad Hydro Electric Project has been evolved as a second stage development of the potential of Pampa river basin and is basically a tail race development of the Sabarigiri project. The project area is situated in the Pathanamthitta District of Kerala and is accessible road from the district head quarters via Vadasserikkara, Chittar. The power house site is Seethathode, 40kM from district head quarters. The scheme utilizes tail water of Sabarigiri Power Station together with the inflow from the two tributaries of Kakkad river. Moozhiyar and Veluthode over a gross head of 132.6m for power generation. The firm power of the station is 30MW corresponding to 262MU per year.
