,BangaloreSai Baba has many ways toreveal to his devotees of HisPresence anywhere in theworld. On 14 January, 2008 theauspicous movement of theSun towards North wascelebrated by donating grainsand other things. Onedevotee in Delhi Col AshokChopra, wanted ourrestaurant to make Rice andDal Khichri with Pure Gheefor distribution at temples. We made the requiredamount which was in two bigcontainers kept ready for Col.Chopra to come and pick up.He came and asked us togive the kichri from the twocontainers in two disposableplates. He brought to the Alterin the inner rooms and placesboth the plates before SaiBaba. Since Mrs Shad wasalso there when he came outand joined us in at our meetingtable. We had a brief satsang.I went to the inner office forsomething and noticed thekhichri in two containers infront of Sai Baba. As we weretalking about Col Chopramentioned that his nieceMicky was coming fromPune on her way toLucknow. She is daughter ofSai Maa of Lucknow. ColChopra is the brother of SaiMaa. Col Chopra asked meif there was anything to sendto Sai Mandir at Lucknow. Irecalled there was adevotee”ks letter with me forSai Maa. I went inside to getthat letter and as I wasmoving out I noticed that SaiBaba had come and tastedthe khichri from one of theplates. He had probablydipped his finger to lick itup. We were all thrilled andSwami being Omnipresentfeeling was doublyreinforced.

Once a Mamlatdar came toShirdi with a doctor friend ofhis. The Doctor said that hisDeity was Rama and that hewould not bow before aMuslim, and so, he wasunwilling to go to Shirdi. TheMamlatdar replied, thatnobody would press him tomake a bow to Baba. So heshould come and give thepleasure of his company. The Doctor agreed and theycame to Shirdi, and went tothe Masjid for Baba’sdarshan. All were wonder-struck to see the Doctorgoing ahead and salutingBaba. They asked him howhe forgot his resolve andbowed before a Muslim. Then the Doctor replied thathe saw his beloved Deity,Rama, on the seat and he,therefore prostrated himselfbefore Him. Then as he wassaying this, he saw SaiBaba there again. Beingdismayed, he said, “Is thisa dream? How could He bea Muslim? He is a greatYogasampanna (full ofYoga) Avatar.” Next day, hemade a vow and began tofast. He absented himselffrom the Masjid, resolvingnot to go there until Babablessed him. Three dayspassed and on the fourthday, a close friend of hisfrom Khandesh, turned up,and with him, he went to theMasjid for Baba’s darshan. After the salutation, Babaasked him, whetheranybody had gone to callhim, so he had come?Hearing this vital question, the doctor was moved. Thesame night he was blessedby Baba, and heexperienced the Blisssupreme, in his sleep. Thenhe left for his town, wherehe experienced the samestate of a fortnight. Thus hisdevotion to Sai Babaincreased manifold.Themoral of all the storiesmentioned above, specially, that of Moolay Shastri, is thisthat we should have firmfaith in our Guru andnowhere else.-Sri Sai Satcharitra

SAI HEAVENS41 ELM PARK ROAD READING. RG30 2TPThere is an veryinteresting and instructiveincident which happened inShirdi, as all the incidentsrelated to Sai Baba couldalso be called a parable. In 1912 Dada Kelkarvisited Shirdi and stayed inSathe Wada. Sathe Wadawas built by Mr. Sathe andDada Kelkar was his brotherin law, so he made it is homeand remained in Shirdi for along time. Sathe Wada wasbuilt adjacent to the holyneem tree, the Gurustan andwas used by the visitors ofShirdi as Dharmashala.Once an old lady fromDahanu visited Shirdi for SaiBaba’s darshan and shetook the lodging in SatheWada.Dada Saheb Kelkar wasa Brahmin and followed strictreligious rules. He would noteat onions and garlic as theysuppose to aggravatetamasic energy inindividuals. Tamasic energyis the negative energy whichis responsible for negativefeelings like anger, mentaland emotional down. SaiBaba had a special love foronions and onions were aregular part of His meals. The old lady had spenther whole life in village andhad some rustic habits. Forthe evening meal, after thedawn she bought someonions from nearby shop andstarted peeling and cuttingthem outside the Sathe’sWada. Dada Kelkar onseeing this started shoutingin anger at the old lady aboutthe act what he thought was

irreligious. The old ladyemotionally hurt by this andstartled in a unknown villagefar from her home, wentinside her room with agloomy heart. There was noother way for her to sit aloneand cry.Dada Kelkar’s granddaughter used to live withhim. Suddenly she had a painin her eyes. They trieddifferent remedies for thesame and none worked. Inthe evening Sai Baba’sdarbar took place inDwarkamai. The old lady alsocame to the Darbar with aheavy heart still wounded bythe harsh words of Kelkar.Dada Kelkar too came to theDarbar and told Baba abouther grand daughter’s painfuleyes.Sai Baba said, “If youfoment the eyes with warmonions, the agony of eyeswill end.” Pointing to the oldlady Sai Baba added, “Thatold mother is sitting there, she resides in the room nextto yours. She has someonions, take a onion fromthose, and foment the eyesafter warming it, relief will befelt.”The old lady still in theagony created by DadaKelkar first refused to givethe onion to him, but howcould she deny the words ofSaibaba? She agreed to givethe onion to Dada Kelkar sothat the paining eyes get therelief. The omniscient Babahad remedy for everything.
