February 2009
As you know, Rick and I were out of town for the past 3 weeks. Therewere 2 shoots while we weregone, and we really appreciatethe way everyone stepped up tothe plate to make them a success. Thanks to new members Karen &Wayne Tepper for the pictures, longtime members Sid & Donna Turek for helpingwith the lunch for the Traveling 3D, and JohnBowersox for coordinating the food. Jeff Sheffel did a great job organizing the Paper shoot – so much so, that we decided to holdanother one. It will be on March 14
th
at 9 am,before the work party. Come out and shootand get warmed up for the Regional andState International tournaments. We discussed holding a paper shootleague, so I’ll be sending out a little e-mailsurvey to get feed back and determine whatmost members prefer as to type and length. Please take a moment to answer it and sendit back. (Thanks.)Joe Torjak has been doing a great jobwith keeping the fields mowed and the lanescleared. I know he appreciates the help our new member, Jose Olmeda, has been givinghim. Keep up the good work guys! The next club meeting will be Thurs.,March 12
th
at 7 pm at Palm Springs Pizza (onForest Hill & Congress Ave. in Palm Springs). If anyone went to the ASA in Gainesvillethis month, write up a short article to letothers know how it went. I’ll put it in the nextissue, and if you have pictures, all the better.Because of the Regional Indoor tournament in Ft. Lauderdale, the regular club shoot for Feb. has been cancelled. Besure to check the calendar for activity dates.May you always hit where you aim, and aimin the right spot!

I want to thank all the clubmembers that helped make theTraveling 3-D shoot a real success.Joe and I got a lot of feedback from the other shooters, and theyreally enjoyed the way the course wassetup and the new tree stand shot.So many members were involvedwith the course setup, food donations, drink and water donations, trophies, and the 50/50 contest. We had over 50 shooters sign upand more then half ate lunch. It was abig success for the club. Thanks to everyone that helpedand came out to participate in theevent.Darren

A Note from the Prez.by

Rick Dorey
We’re back!!Much appreciation goes out to allwho helped make last months’events happen. You did a great job,and I hear a good time was had by all.I am attempting, at this time, to startshooting again, as I got clearance touse my shoulder! (I tore the rotator cuff, and have been in therapy for a couplemonths now.) My first shoot will be nextweekend at the State Indoor in Ft.Lauderdale (Feb 20 – 22) and I’ll shootas long as my shoulder will last, withoutre-injuring it!! I hopethat a lot of our clubmembers can goalso. At this point itis the nearest placeyou can go for astate tournamentand the onlydistance is 20 yards,so everyone can play. You are able topick your shooting times for each day or shoot both rounds on one day.Because the regional Indoor is nearby(also Ft. Lauderdale), we decided not tohold the monthly club shoot. Go to Ft.Lauderdale, and warm up for the Statethe next weekend.
