If you watch too much television and thought floods only happen in Bulambuli and other far fetched locations then re set your tv signals because you missed the best of the news. Namasagali was nearly washed away by torrential floods that lasted up to four weeks. The floods that started as a joke from the locals quickly turned into raging floods raising knee high and travelling at high speeds that even the bridge was not spared developing a huge pothole. Day one saw the filling of one of the pothole. By the next morning it was beyond carrying capacity

and it was threatening to cross the road. By evening time as boys were running back to hostel to pick their training gear the road was practically impassable. Initially it was thought to subsidize but alas the rains had other plans. The floods kept eating away extra chunks of the road that even other parts of the roads were invited to partake on the disaster. This was coupled with increasing speeds of the crossing water and it even became clear as it was sustainably cleaned by the vegetation in the area. by the next morning other places of the road had been flooded too and by eve-

From university to secondary school

RCC and welfare secretary clash over authority

Drama ensued when the hon. RCC and his welfare sec. were locked in a battle of words as they clashed on who is supposed to sit on the welfare committee. This was on the eve of preparations for the freshers ball. The welfare secretary stuck to his whims and even refused to share boda boda to Kamuli as long as the Hon. Was coming to. He was quoted saying,

University offices run out of printing ink and resort to writing out notices for students. The assistant academic registrar recently pinned up a hand written notice to students urging them to take pass port size id photographs. On inquiry he defended himself claiming that new supplies of cartridges were stuck up in the long procurement process that has become part and parcel of the working of Busitema University. Even other university staff have followed suite but using a different format. He was caught communicating verbally to students after being interrogated by students over why the generator was not running.

I am a kagwa boy, he doesn't understand, me am a munyakole As he entered his room. How ever he had a change of mind when he realized he would miss out in the purported enjawulo or kick backs.

Reliving the strike

At the beginning of the semester, students lay down their tools in protest of what they termed as un explained service delivery from both their student leaders and the institution administration. The main sources of the complaints emerged from lack of fuel to run the generator during power black outs, un cleaned places of convenience and a ruthless dean . Although the other two have been sorted out, the root cause still goes un attended to. Ie the generator continues to mot work during black outs and the question still lingers Does the university have any plan to check this problem or is it an excuse decorate the university premises with items that don't work. And what does the students guild have to say about this predicament. The only time Namasagali is on agenda is when we are on strike. For it looks like its the only way the university responds to our grievances.

Shock of a sack
If you have heard the story from grace to grass. Then this what befell one of our dear lecturers riding an open roof from Kamuli to Namasagali as he had big fall recently and nearly lost his laptop. The lecturer in question was a former top boss of the campus is commonly known as uncle ice cream the noise maker and was getting acclimatized to his new role in the university as a mere lecturer. This coincided with what many students thought their senior lecturer, the dean by then was on part time and was busy job searching else where.

Busitema university guild leadership under siege

We are fortunate to have Busitema satellite which has been held in high regard, both at Namasagali campus and Busitema University as a whole, above all for its commitment to fundamental procedural values. We are also fortunate to have a robust system of political and administrable body to check on most of our pressing issues. It is essential that the key governing relationship between students and guild leadership is kept in good repair, both for effective leadership and proper accountability. It is clear that there are currently strains on the system. We do not recommend a radical move towards politicization, nor towards a formal separation of accountabilities as a response, but we do propose a number of steps which may contribute to the good working of a system which combines an independent guild with political accountability for its operations. We began this inquiry as an examination of the extent to which the guild services had been politicized. Events over the last few years have shown the need for a wider reexamination of understandings of students (guild) and guild leaders responsibility. The relationship between guild leaders and students is crucial to the efficient working of our democracy, yet the old version of the public service bargain in which there was an implicit division of responsibility between guild leaders and students (guild) has become confused. There have long been concerns about the way in which responsibility and accountability are divided in the Busitema guild system. Those difficulties have become more acute. An impartial students guild has a key constitutional function. Students guild responsibilities are

not simply to the guild leadership of the day; they should include responsibility to top management, and to the constitution. However, implementing the policies of the elected guild leadership is a core guilds role. Recent events have suggested that it is not always as effective as it could be in this. We do not think there can be a neat division of responsibility between students (guild) and guild leaders, but believe that more should be done to clarify respective responsibilities. We also believe that guild leaders should account to guild (students) more freely than at present. There needs to have a new guild service bargain, underpinned by a governance code. Ministers should be able to have confidence that the guild is responsive to their needs, and deal with poor performance properly. The guild should be confident that they have the right to give advice without adverse consequences, however unwelcome that advice might be, and to be judged on what they are responsible for. Debate over the politicization of the guild services should be set in an internal and external historical context. The guild system is extreme in the limits set on political direction of the administration. On the other hand, it is also a system in which, legally, students act on behalf of ministers, and do not normally have legal responsibilities in their own right. We have no wish to change this, but these developments give context to current arguments about politicization. The nature of such arguments (for example, the inordinate attention given to the role of special advisers) can make sensible discussion of the relationship between ministers and students more difficult than it need be. We consider that those in key posts should be able to command ministers confidence, and welcome moves to ensure that ministers are involved

I hear, Oliadaaaaaaaaa, Musisiiiiii.. causing problems and wrangles among the innocent Namasagali campus students!!!!!!! It was comedy shouting only foreign names. It was the Namasagali campus students that were to vote not to be voted, I hear in Namasagali there are votes not leaders it was shame !!!!!! The politics was played, Namasagali campus went with out any single ministerial post as they were voters not leaders!!!!!!! The campaigning agents treacherously resided in MULTI -POUPUSE as if there was a thing they had for Namasagali campus but rather we had votes. By the way can any of them remember their promises???? I wish H.E Oliada would remember. By the way did I once hear Namasagali students ask whether they are part of the Busitema guild or not? Its high time the G.P and his executive remembered what they promised us!!!! But any way owatera oburaaza abwebanza next time!!!!!!!!!!1

Corruption worse than prostitution

Corruption is like a ball of snow, once its set rolling. It must increase and its nature s way of resting our faith in democracy. Various forms of corruption including bureaucratic tendencies, public procurement ,tax administration, and other oppoprtunities. Corruption is worse than prostitution. The latter might the morals of an indidvidual , the forms invariably endangers the morals of the entire country therefore the public should vote to zero tolerance to fighting corruption and this can only be achieved if the citizens closely monitor their leaders, name and shame errant ones and also vote out incompetent and corrupt leaders in all sectors

A virus in Uganda political parties

The disease spreading in Uganda s political parties is slow but sure and it may unfortunately kill all parties. The top political parties in Uganda unfortunately are all fussing like hydrogen molecules. We are all aware of the two wings in the democratic party; the ssuubi and Maos wing, the Akena and Otunnu in upc , Buganda wing and besiegye in fdc, and the so called organized ruling party now has the the rebel group of the sekikubo and Nserekos and the party royalties under the president but are in all the problem comes from who should succeed the party revolutionaries. Inside sources have it that in FDC there is a battle between shadow cabinet leader Mafabi and Abdu Katuntu on who should succeed Kizza Besigye, the battle worsens in the ruling party between the prime minister and former vice president although his Excellency sees all of them as visionless and since Kawanga Semwogerer and the late Apollo Milton Obote left their parties never have they regained their original pride. this disunity threatens we the future political leaders of Uganda. Pending Matters still to be addressed A number of issues still need to be addressed such as accommodation of year 1 gents, renovation of girls hostel, ten hectare pine plantation guild project, transfer of guild offices to the so called malwa office, water and power reliability, extension of hydro electric power to Bagdad, installation of more computers and text books in the library, improvement on the sanitation in the halls of residence and campus at large, monitoring canteen stock among others. Way forward Although a number of them have been addressed by the CGRC, the top administration still needs to come in a little more on implementation especially on issues concerning power, library books and water and sanitation and accommodation. This a humble appeal to the Vice Chancellor and her team. for you we shall as the students voice with the dialogue approach of solving problems for God and my country. Pursuing Excellence. RCC, Lwetutte Samuel

We entered office late last semester with nothing on ground as we are the pioneers of thee new leadership structure in university students guild. Where authority was decentralized and most of the things done at campus level, credit goes to my fellow member of CGRC and students of Namasagali campus who have been able to stand despite the number challenges but I usually support them with a saying challenges are for champions But indeed leaders in Namasagali campus are champions because with the budgetary constraints in the Busitema university we are able at sacrifice the little we have and claim later to see it that we make Namasagali a wonderful place. Achievements Their have been a number of achievements despite the hard times like; acquisition of long awaited faculty allowance , unity among students, administrators and the local community through associations like NECI,FACI,ERESA,BANKOSA and the religious groupings, extension of piped water and connection of solar power to rooms in Bagdad , orientation of our dear year 1s, setting up of the guild

late 1970s recruited him to the struggle against the regime from their base in Tanzania. In early 1981, Museveni's National Resistance Army (NRA) made its first military strike against the Ugandan state; Kagame was among this tiny band of 27 guerrillas along with one other Rwandan, Fred Rwigyema, who was an old acquaintance from refugee camps. For a number of years Kagame was an intelligence officer in the NRA and gathered information in rural areasa pivotal role in a guerrilla war with a relatively small number of troops. Upon seizure of power in 1986, Kagame and Rwigyema held senior positions in the NRA and in 1987 Rwigyema became deputy minister of defence in Kampala, while Kagame was appointed acting chief of military intelligence to the NRA. Kagame and Rwigyema's military and political experiences in the NRA and its political wing, the National Resistance Movement NRM), cannot be underestimated. As one RPF leader put it: "If the NRM could liberate Uganda

A Refugee's Childhood
The Kagame family's initial displacement was in response to the rise of political consciousness among the Hutu majority in the 1959 "peasant revolution"a movement that was fuelled by Tutsi and Belgian oppression and abuses of powerthat resulted in the deaths of 20,000 Tutsi. The revolution came to define an entire swath of Tutsi refugees like Kagame who, in the face of violence and the Hutu monopolization of power, had consequently fled to Uganda where they became known as the "'59ers." In Uganda Kagame went to school to learn English, and then continued his education at a local state school in Ntare where he excelled. But as a Rwandan "'59er" he was not granted Ugandan citizenship and as such did not qualify for a scholarship to enter secondary school. Instead he benefited from financial assistance via a family friend based in Belgium that enabled him to continue his schooling. This sense of alienation in Ugandan society was later summarized in an interview with Kagame: "Professional advancement was restricted for Rwandans in Uganda. There were limitations on our progress," as quoted in Colin M. Waugh's biography, Paul Kagame and Rwanda. But Kagame also stressed, according to Waugh, that he "would

Kagame and Post-Genocide Rwanda

Kagame and the new government faced a range of vast obstacles from mid-1994, including how to reduce Hutu-Tutsi tensions, how to rebuild an already underdeveloped economy, and how to bring the many thousands of Hutu involved in the genocide to justice. Not only have around 3.5 million refugees have been successfully repatriated, Unity and Reconciliation and Human Rights Commissions were established and Kagame undertook a policy of inter-ethnic goodwill when he re-integrated 15,000 former Hutu soldiers into the army, while his wife Jeanette pursued a prominent campaign against HIV/AIDS.. In addition, Kagame's regime was subject to serious criticism by a U.N. report that claimed that his forces had illegally extracted hundreds of millions of dollars in valuable minerals from neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo during their involvement in 'Africa's First World War' between 1998-2001. In fact, members of Kagame's presidential entourage were personally implicated in this theft, although Kagame himself denied involvement. Kagame's style of leadership is certainly forthright and his RPF remained in firm political control despite the appointment of several Hutu ministers. And while significant social and economic progress has been achieved, the RPFs behind the scenes hold on power contributed to the resignation of President Pasteur Bizimungu and the succession of Kagame to the presidency in 2000, which was subsequently reinforced in flawed presidential elections on August 25, 2003. Allegations of politically motivated assassinations and corruption have been levied against Kagame's regime, while a significant domestic and foreign-based opposition was growing, including defectors from the RPF. Despite this Kagame has battled against the odds and managed to lead a period of relative peace, stability and reconstruction in post-genocide Rwanda. Whether or not he can maintain this positive trend depends upon his willingness to genuinely share the reigns of power in this desperately poor country.

A poor population is more likely to be detrimental to the environment

There many individuals who have started planting trees or increased their forest acreage. But due to land shortage for forestry, the initiative to re-green the country has been hampered. As we clamour for an environmentally decent nation, the issue of allocating government land which is not forested to forestry investors should be looked into. The forestry sector has and can attract investors who will in turn promote Ugandas economy and create employment opportunities for Uganda has a total of 3.55 million hectares of forest land, the ever bulging unemployed population. Umeme should consider citizens plight and end power outages

Benedict Onyango, on y ang o.b en edict@ ya ho o .c om

I would like to respond to the recent cries by many Ugandans regarding power shortage. Parts of the country are now experiencing power blackouts amidst inflation now at more than 30 per cent. All major and minor businesses, including hair saloons, restaurants, schools shops depend on power. Sometimes, only a section of an area gets power while the rest are left in a power blackout. As Ugandans are struggling to cope with inflation, power failure is hitting them hard and adding to their misery. What is strange is that landlords are also continuing to raise rent. But from where will an ordinary Ugandan get money? Umeme keeps issuing power bills some of which do not compare with the actual power consumed. Besides, traders have to pay taxes for their businesses without regard to the power inconvenience they are experiencing. It is all drama like what is said to be bleeding a leach to fatten a heifer!Uganda covers an area of 241,550.7 square kilometres of which 41,743.2 sq km is open water and swamps while 199,807.4 sq km is land. We have three major rivers, including the Nile, Aswa, and Kagera, among others. What is interesting is that Rwanda, which has fewer rivers, has constant power supply! There are countries that do not have rivers yet they have regular power supply. In the circumstances, it is high time we focused on other means of power other than relying on hydro power

UGANDANS IN UN SAFEHANDS.

ganda, a country which was perceived internationally as one of any ones wish of destination has turned out to be one where no one wishes to step. Not because of other reasons outside security, but because it has been turned into a hub of Africas despotic legacy. Uganda is fundamentally owned, and primarily managed by a section of thieves posing as political technocrats, yet they are intentionally administering adynastial success. A success where it is them i.e. they and their immediate genealogies to enjoy. I shade tears whenever I watch the leader of these thieves giving public speeches. Speeches which assure you safety and yet you are being robbed, speeches that assure you all the heavens and yet you are being led into hell. Let me at this point in this material time wholly heatedly and with the strongest conviction possible, salute in condemnation the orchestrators of the birth of this tyrant. He has made Ugandans to sleep for the past 25yrs in vain for the pursuit of peace, political goodwill, economic development, and all the wishes that your dear mother could wish you. I imagine some Ugan-

dans wishing to go back in the days of Obote and Amin. What does that imply my sister and brother? Our mother land is getting worse than the Obotes regime which was characterized by massive latent killings, Amins regime which was characterized by overwhelming broad day light massacres, looting, rape etc? Oh No, I urge Museveni to underscore the imperative need for raising the standard of living of a few Ugandans and instead focus his concern on the entire Ugandan fraternity. Let him be reminded that mere affluence and accumulation of material wealth is a primrose path leading to social, economic and cultural disintegration. And true economics never militates against the highest ethical standards, neither does it inculcate mammon worship and enable the strong to amass wealth at the expense of the weak, which is a false and dismal science. We as Ugandans see that it is paramount and quite appropriate in the future to suitably celebrate the birth of a Ugandan president who lived every minute of his life for the good of the ordinary Ugandans, and always highlighted some basic principles as guide lines for the benevolence of all Ugandans. President Museveni should be reminded that whatever he is doing in the present shall dictate the future of Uganda politically, economically, socially, culturally, and morally. It has been noted locally, nationally and internationally that for the exit of different Ugandan presidents, it has always been exacerbated by the muzzle of the gun. Now I share a concern with you

that why doesnt Museveni challenge this local, national and international perception about Ugandan presidents by exiting smoothly through a free and fair election, o wonder whether the electoral body is under Kigundu or not. I think this could be enough to whitewash his already tainted legacy before the majority of Ugandans both within and abroad. The samias have a saying that Nende ahina bilayi yesi yola yatula mudiro, literally meaning that even he who dances best also leaves the dance floor So I argue this son of mzee Kaguta that if he is so sure that it is only him who has always had Ugandas vision, then it is time he stepped down in whatever bloodless way possible and let us weigh other Ugandans capacity and capability to push this country forward. He has to be informed that even at present, a Ugandan youth born at the time of his ascension to power (1986) also has a vision for this country now, which may even be better than his. President Museveni has always employed hoodwinking machineries by treating a few politically meaningful Ugandans pernalistically in a patronizing way at the expense of the ordinary poor Ugandans. Where possible, or even impossible, he has always managed to manipulate and rape the legal system to the extent of even vindicating the truly implicated in the public funds embezzlement, corruption, and any worst offence that you can think of. This regime has and still registers the most prodigal top government guns in terms of amassing the hard earned tax payers money.

trenched country is that let him refocus his mind to the pleasant appeals that he made to Ugandans in the late 80s and early 90s. Otherwise, the flounce in the hearts of Ugandans is enough to dictate their most salient voice and at the end, he will realize that the spirit of democracy cannot be imposed from without; it has to come from within the peoples hearts. Otherwise, Ugandans are in un safe hands.

WORK AND SUCCESSS.

We must realize that for any success, there is no substitute for hard work. You must always work very hard to achieve a successful life. Competitors in the race of lifes huddles are many but the person who trusts in the Lord has a greatest advantage over them all. The essential truth any one should know is that no opportunity will meet one in bed; thus any great thing can be accomplished in the end of many difficulties and as the reward of commitment. To attain the success of any immense idea in work there must be focus with mind and successful men of the always observe the use of four Ds; Discipline this involves having self respect and respect for all, friends, authority, neighbors as well as workmates. It also involves respect of personal and community property and respect for the environment. Generally discipline is about having good morals and integrity-character. Dedication. This implies having positive mental altitude of work. There must be willingness and readiness to have self sacrifice. Determination this involves hard work and willingness, readiness to move an mile for excellent results. Devotion. It implies Godliness devoted to do everything in Gods name .trusting that with God everything is possible.

Exam stress
You can hardly see anyone, place so quiet and calm. You only recognize pairs and groups of people seated under trees with books and serious looks. At this time you reveal that there are only 2-3 weeks to exams wow. Everyone wants to pass exams, every dreams of passing exams and everyone wants to be successful in life. But sadly, only a few make despite the efforts. For most students, their fate is very much determined by a few blank pieces of the paper infront of them, in a tension filled room with in a period of 3 hours only. And guess what? They also believe they are failures. How sad? Imagine your whole being decided by mere pieces of papers of just few hours Remind yourself that you are not alone. There many others in the same room who feel as you do. Whatever the case, good preparation is the key to success. Those fail exams sometimes do because of poor preparation not necessarily less intelligent than those who perform well even with little preparation but duh it wasnt written anywhere or verify. But all in all nothing beats preparing well for exams. Set a goal and a vision in life. It will inspire you, tickle you on you gradation and make you laugh in your office. How to excel at university

ello friends, how is everything? Try to make sure that you endeavor to jot down the most paramount areas in this content carefully because it may cost your future life after university as far as academics is concern. There is a saying that Dont

first start to make a very loud boost of what you achieved yesterday today, because if you do so, it means you are not going to achieve anything today
herefore brothers & sisters most of us actually have passed via very narrow gates to excellence, but that does not mean the end of the struggle. Most of us unknowingly assume heaven on earth with all the morale but you should know that if you dont work hard for yourself nobody will work hard for you because life is

t the university, excellence is not a dream but its out of your own efforts with commitment to the main objective. As a matter of fact I attribute university excellence to the following; Avoid Deeping yourself in un controllable scenarios like strikes, heavy boozing, and spending much time out at night with hooligans Have a very organized and self controlled mind that is not biased. This is accompanied by excellent decision making and never be driven in a wrong direction Deep involvement in discussion groups and research on assignments. Make sure that you do all assignments in time and avoid pressure Attend all lectures with faith and contribute in class discussions.

Ooh Namasagali campus!!!

t was so dangerous when we had just come where by fresh species of homo sapiens especially the three legged ones, I mean gents, did not know how to set water in motion after their natural phone call. Worse still they left seaters in tatters in quest for network and to my utter amazement others said they were attempting to squat thinking it was a VIP. As if that was not enough, these good relatives of monkeys as they belong to the same genre used grass as tissue. On the side of ladies it was much better because the nature houses were shouting for were shouting for who all over the campus heard. Do you mean Namasagali campus is to poor to buy air fresheners?? This was accompanied by tears of anguish due to the insects kissing their innocent butts. Sorry Namasagali campus whose students build castles about showers because instead the nature house dictate privacy for baths, nature calls. Mugisha Ronald

A smile keeps the doctor away and its never a party till its dirty. The above clearly fit to students of Namasagali whom the week is never till a party is held. These students truly live to the billing of party animals who carry mind boggling parties of all themes form kwanjula parties to welcome two new love birds into the stressful world of honey l love you to a friend is a burden lost when love grows sour. Have manifested in Namasagali. Students have gone to the extent of organizing retake parties to mourn their miss endeavors during the semester. Recently the fresher's alien to the working of the campus foolishly decide to boycott a party organized in their favor. To a wise its once bitten, twice shy, they have decided to over look their misdirected decision making and attending all parties of all themes even burial and last funeral rites. The party bug is still biting hard as Christians too joined the band wagon and are organizing all sorts of parties from welcoming new members to church or celebration of a certain forced shower called baptism. Since change is part and parcel of human life, even parties have under gone a considerable change form the kayola you are all welcome parties to select few only attend parties. These involve a bunch of few select number of students who crowd in a room to bid happiness to their loved one. So if parting is good for your health, then Namasagali students are planning on being party obese so all potential researchers here is a new field for you. Till next time. By Sema Nare

Plan a;; fashion creep

he adage is weather knows no fashion and Namasagali it has crush on. Its the only campus with kids who wears lugabires full time even in gentle wear on a Monday, with unkempt hair, I guess its price that they cost him. Someone tell these politicians that being in office doesnt mean wearing suits full time and the floods dont mean an excuse to marry ties and gum boots. To our dearest lecturers we all know you ride open roofs and cant pack enough luggage for fear of being charged extra but please we have stopped understanding for we imagine you teaching last weeks topic since you are in the same attire week in week out.. And talking of designs, girls we know your face is an art paper you paint your true self but please multi color arent that cool from blue ribbon head bands, yellow bangles on white pants, others squeezed in their young sisters clothes. a lady like is complemented by a matching hand so why do you girls use them to carry laptops, books with pages flying out and ecology written all over them??? Plus boys rocking fitting

mented with a stream line fitting trouser or you will like a hanger dressed in a shirt blown by wind. Also nothing kills jazzing a girl with more bangles than namasagali cattle or one wearing her high school skirt and her panty bum line running her behind nor the boys rocking their former school uniform shirts, keep that stuff for your schools alumni meeting thats

sweaters, shirts the rule is they are comple-

if you even make it to the meeting either. Talking of keeping, up here we have boys who can exhaust their ward robes with in the first three days of the week and I wonder why that should happen yet the market day runs every week so boys burn that allowance and hook your selves with nice stuff and benefit from cheap prices so that you stop sharing designs with the local villagers. Imagine the pain a girl goes through standing next to her boy friend and a village fellow passes by with the same attire but better looking and a little newer and cleaner. Lastly talking of shoes why should a man wearing a suit have box shaped shoes like we forgotten the rule here. Belt matches the shoes which complements the tie. So if you havent the right combinations throw the suit to the dogs. Girls too stilettos or bukondo is no go on a rainy day. For it irritates seeing holes littered all over the compound. So till next time watch what you combining in your dress code.

Weather update
As the semester began ,the Namasagali weathers began fairly well but as them months kept on building the temperatures in the Nile river also began to steadily increase. Eventually Namasagali roads were swept by awave of floods but thanks to the gods no caulities were registered. The temperatures have steadily normalized as per records from Namasagali weather station for the mid -month of November. While the bringing was experiencing global warming, thr grass near multi purpose underwent serious desertification. It was only relieved by relief from Bagdad party. Flooding will recur as studnte head to Nagongera on lonely trips when the exams send a monsoon winds.

Campus sleaze
With the technological changes taking place, even boys have changed their techniques of trapping Eves daughters. Laptops' are a common place in the courting circles as boys have discovered girls are in love with those cool laptops.

Those with out those gadgets have resorted to waylay girls on their own beds claiming they are sick and they are the only medicine.wow

Recently a former big shot dumped from his former job decided to dump his laptop in the raging floods of Namasagali, I guess with an aim of winning favor from his former bosses so he could be reinstated.ooh sorry

Wondometer days

very one has that time in life when you just let go. I mean pour caution to wind and have a moment of fun without caring to the future. This moment of truth, I remember came during my O level UNEB examinations. The exams saw all the stress accumulate from the first examinations as life styles and timetables were reorganized. For that one month we were very organized boys that even to our selves, we looked alien. Imagine reading through out the day and even woke up at 5 am to crack books until 6:30. We even attended lessons from teachers who wouldnt finish the syllabus in time in hope of getting sasi. This vicious cycle worked its magic round us till the first week of exams. As they say a tiger never loses its spots. After two weeks of this academic rain, the spots re appeared. This was when we had one paper left so the reading habits had to be re adjusted not knowing that the exams are not over until the final paper is handed in. We had two weeks to fight the ghosts of our old selves.

and me; backslider. In the town center, we watched a movie in the video halls. Then on our way coming back, we would check on people in the local bars playing home and away games communicating to the devil sipping malwa. At this point here that some one would bring an idea of branching to see what is on the ground. Reaching, we would find very many varieties of the games like; look at me or waragi, omubisi commonly known as mwenge bigere, and pombe or ajono. Of course some of us would fear to get cut or drank quickly like Petero, and others like Bouncer claimed to have tablets for the game. He would suggest getting a kilogram of pork. We would chew and booze while interacting with the elders. This was complemented with lots of dancing though Petero would get cut very first. He one time boozed to the extent of being mugged carried yet we had just sneaked from the school. All this was done at the expense of eating supper that was served at 6pm.

This went on for some good days till another disaster happened after some boy lost my biology text book worth 15000. Despite persistent requests for it, he had no straight answers. And remember senior 4 of our lot were nick named a force year and the rule had to be applied to him. I mugged his mattress worth 50000 in my property. This was just on the eve of my final paper since the rule was you finish your paper, you vacate the school. Hence he lost like that. Some times I reminisce about these events with a grin on my face, not with regret over my failed credit 6 in TD but our afourth year rule;

Your life and GOD with AGGREY

AKAMPUMUZA

For if you live after the flesh, you shall die: but if you through the Spirit do put to death the deeds of the body, you shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God Romans` 8: 13-14 (KJV)
In the entire chapter 8 of Romans, Apostle Paul was discussing the importance of the HOLY SPIRIT in a Christian entire life from proving that there not condemned they that believe in the Almighty through His Son (vs.1) Verses 13-14 keenly emphasize that all people young and old, rich and poor, slave and free are at the verge of death if they live after the flesh. Living in the flesh refers to living a carnal life obeying the lusts and doing as you will and by the desires of your minds without the acknowledgement of GOD. Paul emphasizes that only and only those who put to death the desires of the flesh to death shall live today and for eternity. Life after the life on earth is basically in two destinations,

WALK IN LOVE
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God (1 John 4:7). Every day, our love-nature is tested by difficult people or circumstances that try to make us act contrary to who we really are. Therere times when out of fear, you may be tempted to lie against a friend as a means to escape trouble or punishment. Thats when you ought to be bold to walk in love, for thats how to gain the victory. The Bible says, There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear (1 John 4:18). When you walk in love, youll see only the best in others because love is the purity of God. We all ought to only see the good in others, not because were nave, but because love-power can change the bad. Walking in love is a high place in God, and you must be determined to walk in love always. If youre born again, the love of God is already in you (Romans 5:5). That means you have the ability to love like God, but you have to make a choice to walk in love, for love is a choice you choose to love! God doesnt make you love someone; Hes already put His love in your spirit and now its up to you to let it out. Learn to relate with people from Gods perspective. See them the way God sees them, and thats the right way to live. If you walk in love, you wont steal, slander or malign anyone. Choose to love. Many havent realized it, but the solution to the many broken marriages, friendships and relationships is love. Even when others rebuff you as you try to reach out to them in love, dont be discouraged. Love is the greatest power in the universe, and if applied correctly, will eventually melt the hardest heart. By Betty n

Heaven and Hell and every man has to go to either and here the
apostle says that Hell is for they that are living after the flesh and heaven for the spirit-abiding and loyal people. Only those who are led by the spirit of GOD are HIS true sons. The Bible does not talk of those who believe or those who go to church or the pastors, reverends, priests or even the pope, it is strict-clear that only the Spirit-filled and the Spirit-led. It is no longer a debate on how to go to Heaven or Hell these verse summarize the answer youve doubting of and its no longer an excuse now.

Acts17:30 tells us that ignorance of the law is no defence. In

Rev3:20-21, JESUS CHRIST says that for all this time He has been at door (of your heart) knocking but youve refused to let Him in to dine with you. Read Luke 24:13-33 and find out the people He ate with and their eyes were opened. He is patient enough that He has waited for us but the time is coming when he will sort out the sheep from the goats (Matthew 25:32-33) and will be gone. Therefore Brethren, like Moses and Joshua told the Israelites in the wilderness (Duet 30:19 and Joshua 24:15), I beseech you to determine your destine because you dont 100 more years on earth but youll live for billions of years across the bridge. This is only through accepting JESUS and receiving the Holy Spirit and then go for everlasting glory (Acts 2:37-38).Otherwise today is the day. GOD BLESS

Giving gifts is a very admirable thing in Islam. However, it's important that when we give gifts that we don't ask for it back for Ibn Abbas narrated, "One who takes back his gift (which he has already given) is like a dog that swallows its vomit" [Bukhari Vol 3 Book 47 No 762].

in a game billed a battle of the titans , but what was to be sweet cold revenge turned into a game they wished that never played. as they were ripped apart by an organized year 1 force under their inspirational captain Chris. The year 1 started brightly getting the break through Gerald after a quick 12 left defenders chasing shadows and goal keeper Katkwe in no mans land, this was quickly cancelled out by Samuel snr after a diagonal cross from number 7.the second then remained even till second half. In second half, year 2 started brightly but wasted a catalogue of chances through Mahad getting the most clear chance to kill the game. This wasted chances invited the year 1 to try their luck too through their striker Solomon who jumped on a miss kicked ball by defender John to score the winning goal. This was the second loss to the year 1 after that 8-2 drubbing n an earlier match. Guess the year 2s improved by letting in only two goals. By sema nare Man city were left licking their own wounds as they face an uncertain future in Europe s elite league. This was after they were humbled 2-1 by a bright looking Napoli side. Edison Cavani double and Baloteli were the only goals of the day. This left man city a point adrift of Napoli and have to beat Bayern at the Ethihad stadium in the last game to qualify. Other notable results were man utd draw at home to Benefica which left them 1 point above Otelul Galati in round two qualification. This means utd will have to tussle it out with Otelul Galati in the last round of game with a winner takes all match to be played at Otelul Galatis stadium. Arsenal meanwhile transferred their league winning form to Europe's elite league as they side stepped Germany champions borrussia Dortmund to ease into the 2nd round with the likes of real Madrid and barcelona

Year 2s contemplate retirement

Sports body is a shame

The level of drama that characterized the intercampus games held at Arapai show cased the level of disorganization that has marred the operations of Busitema university. Games were played with no refreshments for the teams. Some of them did not have jerseys and speculation was high that some were to play shirtless to distinguish them from the others. Another low point was the food served to participants being the lowest of quality even not matching that in the previous games. So is the problem on the current sports minister or is is it the make the new ICGRC that when it comes to service delivery they should all disperse and only become active when its time to sign for their meager allowances. And why the minister only appear at the games with nothing but excuses about funds yet we presume its them who make the budget. So next time save us the drama and organize some thing worth remembering not regretting. By sema nare

After swallowing the brunt of many disappointments over the last one year and a half in the football team. Many year 2 football stars are contemplating retiring from the whole football setup and concentrate on their wives, political careers and some are taking up part time teaching commonly known as going Nagongera. Most have blamed this on injuries and others on luck though most cant stand the competition posed by the unstoppable year 1s. luckily this has not any selection head ache to the coach. By sema nare

Girls shine all the way

Nam girls netball kept the campus flag shining and floating as they won all the games the netball thet participated. This was all on the back first threatening not to participate in the drama filled day that characterized the intercampus games held at Arapai. This was because the organizers failed to live up to their promise of providing all participant s with playing gears from jerseys to footwear. After the initial scare the girls regrouped after their winning thirst was quenched by some basketball jerseys they were provided with. On court they were unstoppable wining all their games against hosts Arapai, taught main campus a lesson while Nagongera failed to show up for fear of humiliation.

Year 2s humbled

Year 1 team shown in the picture emerged victorious over a miserable looking year 2s team over two legs. Having lost the initial friendly 8-2, the unsatisfied year 2s were baying for
