Description

The essay accepts that economic externalities (unpriced business costs) are a significant factor enabling well meaning human activities to cause massive ecosystem service degradation (Climate change, etc.) and human suffering (poverty, disease and famine).
The essay examines how economic externalities came to cause such harm and considers the possibility that new natural and social wealth money and good accounting may provide a pathway to an harmonious growth economy that will internalise these previously unpriced costs.
The essay suggests that by this means liberal democratic economies may minimise unintended ecosystem service degradation and social harm and provide positive incentives for harmonious chattel, natural and social wealth creating economies that will continue to enable human enterprise to produce and distribute 'good things' efficiently while restoring ecosystem services and social trust.
