FROZEN LIQUIDS vs. MELTING POINT
INVESTIGATORY REPORT
By: Claire Daphne JuanicoFemelyn Rose OligoBea Rafaella NufuarFirst year- JadePhilippine Science High School- Western Visayas

I.Background Study
The melting point of a solid is the temperature range at whichit changesstatefrom solid toliquid. At the melting point the solid and liquid phase exists in equilibrium. When considered as thetemperature of the reverse change from liquid to solid, it isreferred to as the freezing point. Because of the ability of somesubstances tosuper cool, the freezing point is not considered tobe a characteristic property of a substance. The heat affects themelting point of a substanceAn organic compound’s melting point is one of severalphysical properties by which it is identified. The melting point of a solution is higher than the meltingpoint of the pure solvent before introduction of the solute(substance dissolved).
II.Problem of the Study
This Study was conducted to answer the following problem:Which frozen liquid will melt the quickest?
III. Hypothesis
We think that the frozen Kool Aid Grape Juice will melt thequickest. We based our hypothesis on the information that says water withconcentrated powder with it, when frozen will melt the quickest.
IV. Objectives of the Study

A.General Objective
To determine which frozen liquid will melt the quickest
To determine if the liquid’s concentration affects its meltingpoint
B.Specific Objectives
To determine the number of minutes it took to melt thefrozen liquids
V. Design of Study
a.)Variablesa1.)Controlled Variables
-room temperature-time in freezer-size of ice cubes
a2.)Manipulated Variables
-different kinds of concentrations
a3.)Responding Variables
-length of time it took for them to melt in minutes
