The Sikh political leaders hadthemselves been trying to getthe blessings of the heads ofthe deras just for electorategains, to get votes throughthem, thereby giving them therecognition, though beingdetrimental to the Sikh cause,instead of denouncing themand their self made cheapslogans and educating theSikhs to alienate them fromthe deras, and any othersystem and to live in Sikh wayof life.These deras attract the innocent Sikhs who have no study ofSikh religion, by making references to the dictums of Sikhreligion itself as if they are preaching Sikhism but Sikhpreachers and leaders do not expose them with honesty ofpurpose and so such persons remain misguided. It is only bythe preaching of Sikh religion with earnestness to all theSikhs that these deras can be made ineffective, so far asSikhs are concerned.Still Sikhs are sincere to their religion and ready to make anysacrifice for it, even though, some may not be living in Sikhway of life and its code of conduct. This spirit can easily leadthem to the total rejection of derawad and to live in strict Sikhway of life and code of conduct, with the honest and properpreaching of Sikh religion. The Sikh political leaders shouldadopt this approach rather than the blessings of the derachiefs for getting votes.
