This year for the season of Lent, we decided to use Chitachay and its study materialsfor our Wednesday night Lenten reflections. Each of the missionaries is rotating theresponsibility of leading the Lenten Bible study. On Ash Wednesday we watchedChitachay and heard a short message from Pastor Mark about God’s promises. I ledthe study on Jesus as our Good Shepherd the following week, and last night Anthonyled our study on the sufficiency of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross for our salvation.
On Sunday, February 17, we confirmed Cesar and Lidiana and welcomed them as members of thechurch. They were both very happy to becomemembers and celebrate the Lord’s Supper with us for the first time. They are pictured with their catechismteacher on page one. Pastor Mark will now be teachingthe third round of catechism, and there is currently oneperson, Gerardo, who faithfully comes. Please keephim and his studies with Pastor Mark in your prayers.Coffee & Conversation has become even moreof a hit lately, and we’ve had more than 30 Peruvianscoming each Thursday. We are especially blessed thata few of the people who come have been gettinginvolved in some of our other ministries with theMercy House, and they have been coming to church. Please pray for Lidia, Manual, Juan, Eduardo, andCarlos as they continue to spend time with us and ask questions about God.I have been teaching the adult Bible class onSunday mornings, and I really enjoy it. We justfinished our study of Colossians, and I plan to startstudying Romans this coming Sunday. Thank God for His living and active Word and for the opportunity wehave to study it on Sunday mornings.
