The phases of Venus


invited smiles on faces.
Erasing the child, once wild
with nature. A man and
woman remained, living in
the same name, a game
of push and pull
on spirit and soul.

A king in a way,
his golden mane,
shined with pride.
Unable to hide,
impossible to
leave inside.
Still the lion
tried to defy
his arrogance.

The opposite palm,


held a lady. Loving
and sweet. Flying
and fleeting. Fragile
yet agile; her ruby-red
throat sang with peace.
A motherly voice, keeping
the feline at bay.

An internal stage,
the proper place
for an exchange
of two hearts
in one flame.

Together with
meaning, the loss
of one would set
ablaze to both
jungles
and plains.
