Veterinarian Joanna Smith
The career that I am interested in pursuing is becoming aveterinary surgeon. This career includes taking care of

sick and injured animals. After they have found the causeof the illness they try to cure it with medicine and modernday technology. They also teach the animals owners howto feed, train and care for their animals. MostVeterinarians specialize in either small or large animals.Personally I would like to care for small animals. In North Carolina there are many facilities that can helpyou care for your animal. In my community there aremultiple facilities including: Kildaire Animal MedicalCenter, Cary Veterinary Hospital and Animal EmergencyClinic. Cary veterinary hospital is the largest of them all. The other two are relatively small. They are all located inCary, North Carolina and have all the up to datetechnology. For this profession you need a minimum of eight years.Four years in a regular college and then another fouryears in a veterinary medicine school. In this professionyou have to take care of a multitude of animals rangefrom dogs and cats to more exotic species like iguanasand dolphins.
