WITH Dr. DAVID D.
We are in the time o the church’s year known as Lent, but perhaps it is more easily understood as “the season o theCROSS.” From Paul’s words to the Colossian Christians, we seeyet again that the cross is the ulcrum o human history – thecentral point – the dividing line – or all who would come to gazeupon it. It is the moment upon which Christian aith rises andalls, and thereore, the predominant symbol or believers aroundthe world. Though oten seen, the cross is rarely understood. Ipray that in this season we will consider its power and grandeuryet again and know o its transorming power, not only or ourlives, but or our world. To that end, our church has planned a number o opportu-nities or you to pray, reect, worship, receive instruction, andshare with others on this sacred git o our God.
