WITH Dr. DAVID D.
We are in the time o the church’s year known as Lent, but perhaps it is more easily understood as “the season o theCROSS.” From Paul’s words to the Colossian Christians, we seeyet again that the cross is the ulcrum o human history – thecentral point – the dividing line – or all who would come to gazeupon it. It is the moment upon which Christian aith rises andalls, and thereore, the predominant symbol or believers aroundthe world. Though oten seen, the cross is rarely understood. Ipray that in this season we will consider its power and grandeuryet again and know o its transorming power, not only or ourlives, but or our world. To that end, our church has planned a number o opportu-nities or you to pray, reect, worship, receive instruction, andshare with others on this sacred git o our God.
