A: Hello children and welcome to the post-office.A: What kinds of things do we do at the post-office?A: Good. Is the ? Have you been there to send mail? Who worksat the post-office? Do they have a uniform? What does it look like?A: Alright, today we are going to write a letter to our friends.
(Teacher will show the students the sample letter with the samplesentences)
A: First, you need to pick a friend in your class that you want tosend a letter to. Or else you can send one to your teacher.A: Did everybody think of someone?B: Yes.A: Good. Now let’s look at this letter to see what types of things
 
we can say.
(Show the letter to the students and point out the
Greeting/Salutation
,the
Body
, and the
Closing/Conclusion,
as well as the sample sentences)
A: What are some greetings we can use? We can say "Dear" or "ToMy Good Friend" "or just "Hello."B: OkayA: And to say goodbye, we can say use things like
sincerely, yourstruly, fondly 
, and then finish with your name.
 
A: Good. Now let's write our letters. Here are three letters youcan write. Write the sentences you see and fill in your owninformation. If you want, you can decorate your letter with apicture or design.
(Students will spend ten minutes or so writing a letter to their friend. Teacher should make sure that students are capitalizing the first word of sentences and using the correct punctuation)
A: Alright, is everyone finished with their letters?B: We are finished.A: Will anyone be brave and read their letter to us?B:
(If someone reads, good, if not continue)
A: Great. Now everyone please take an envelope.
(Teacher will hand out an envelope to each student)
A: What sorts of things do we need to put on the envelope whenwe send a letter?A: Good. Let’s have the address be Jeodong Elementary. You canwrite your name and your friend’s name.
(For grades 5 and 6, teacher will give the whole address to jeodongElementary and explain that the address in English goes fromspecific place to country, opposite of Korean address. English address goesname, street, city, province, country, mail code)
